I am for real. I don't play games only for achievements though, they are just the icing on the cake. I prefer cakes with icing to cakes with no icing, so yeah...

Why are you glad about less people wanting to play Nintendo games though?

Because I don't want Nintendo to make games that cater to people like you. I don't want 3 consoles that are effectively the same.

I assume your thinking Nintendo would only make an achievement like system if their policies were a lot different and thus negatively effect their games. I personally trust Nintendo and I don't see that happening.

Why do you think that achievements made games worse other than maybe just the experience?

I like achievements, some of them are fun to get and it gives me an extra reason to finish a game. I wish Nintendo would adopt them.

I just don't care for them. I prefer unlocking secret levels or concept art for doing good in a game (like DKC: TF or SM3DW), I don't need a useless digital trophy. Unless Nintendo is very creative about it and makes these trophies somehow affect the gameplay or Miiverse community then I don't want it. I want to be rewarded for being curious, not because a game told me what to do.

I loved staring at the 3D figurines of DKC: TF, so if every trophy was crafted manually for you to add to your digital collection for others to view, that would be cool.

If you're bad at something, don't do it at all (MS and Sony). I don't need an average achievement system from Nintendo.

How can they be bad at if they created it?

I like to think girls find me more attractive by having more.

They obviously don't follow the same philosophy I have. The idea isn't bad, but the implementation is.

It might not follow the same philosophy, but that doesn't mean they are bad at it; especially not when they're the designers themselves and there's tons of people who enjoy collecting achievements/trophies (me included). You're the one who's not digging it.

EDIT: For the record, there are achievements that reward the player in-game.

I like them, but i only go for the Platinum when i really REALLY like a game.

People like it because there's no better alternative. The Romans liked their wine even though the quality of it is shitty compared to today.

You mean, people like it because they have the choice. They have the choice to obtain them or not; those who are not interested at all can desactivated those.

I find your símile to be very strange, but since we're at it, it's completely wrong. If Romans didn't like their wine, they could always resort to Greek or Germania's wine, which was higly prized. Using your same example, if Xbox/Playstation players don't like their achievements/trophy, they can always resort to disable them on the options.

If you're on Nintendo's consoles, you're stuck on the "no achievement" option, so there's really no choice to be made there; unless the software itself comes included with an achievement package of its own, like Kit Icarus.
