Forums - PC Discussion - hololens price

So the hololens looks cool and all but will it be like kinect 1? Also what do you think the retail price will be? I reckon minimum 600. And did Microsoft finally beat apple at their own game? Your thoughts.

there is a full pc inside of that along with kinect sensors, miniprojectors and special optics

I don't expect to see a price below $1000 for the first versions

$600... is it launching with Xbox4 in 2020??
Also beating Apple at their own game?? What game would this be exactly??

600 would be reasonable but seeing MS pricing I would think 800 is closer to the truth. They probably don't want to cross the 1000 mark if they actually want to sell it.

Yes, please explain the Apple thing.

As already mentioned it's got a whole PC in it, and an extra "hologram processing unit" as well as all the kinect tech, hopefully somewhat improved. So I think $600 is at the low end of what I think the price range could be. Making it entirely unmarketable as a consumer device.

I would say about 700-800$ and I actually think it is closer to release than most of us think :).

$399-$499 if they want it to sell.
