Forums - Sales Discussion - Microsoft's act of extreme desperation actually worked! Will it continue now?

also another recurrent negative tradition on PS is the fact that they get a lot of exclusive japanese titles that they DONT promote/advertise or even mention at shows like E3, Gamescom etc... if they just advertised those games more we wouldnt hear so many people saying that the PS4 has no games... when people look at the PS4 exclusive games for the holidays all they see is Little Big Planet 3...

and when i see that lineup for the Holidays i see LBP 3 and this awesome game:

(it even got a higher metacritic score than LBP3)

And before someone jumps on me telling me that its also on PS3 i will say this: and so what? TitanFall was on PC, Xbox 360 and X1 it was both a crossgen game and a console exclusive... in other words the only platform it wasnt available in was the PS4, and that didnt stop microsoft from promoting the game and getting a boost in sales thanks to it and the bundles...

What acts of desperation are you talking about? In the spring they introduced a kinectless SKU, having one for 499$ and one for 399$. Granted, a Kinectless SKU was never planned from the beginning but was probably a wise decision. The only price drop was this fall to 349$/449$. This is a tactic MS has used several times with the 360, so why so surprised?

I am quite sure Sony will dominate this generation but the best thing would be if they were matched or outperformed in some regions, because competition is something we as fans always benefit from.

Btw, I like your Phantasy Star IV pic. One of my favorite games from my favorite series.

Unleash the beast the power of ps4 by using steam os >.>

I am not a Guilty Gear fan, however, you have a good point. We need to hear about and receive more Japanese games. I want the PS4 Y's game for example.

Your threads are awful and you take the console war way too seriously...

And the answer to your question is no. X1 sales will be really bad at $399. But I do expect Xbox to win in North America again.

Globally, I think the ps4 will win but in the US, I think the x1 might take it

But what about... globally in the US?

Worldwide, PS4 will dominate, but I'm tired of living in Xbox country. Will Xbox retake America? What do you guys think?

You want a Japanese console to take control of America from an American console?

Commie.

I laughed.

Hard.

PS2 dominated the 6th generation, and things were great. Big competition is not always needed. I prefer one console with nearly all the great games like PS2.

Last generation was by far the best one ever in my view, where we had three strong consoles. And the 6th generation would have been even greater if Sony would have been forced to up their game even more. You can't seriously believe having almost monopoly drives innovation in gaming :).

The better X1 does in the US, the greater the chance of multi platform releases and the PC ports. X1 needed this Xmas in the US to stay in the game. It appears to have done it in a big way. I'd have thought that's probably great news for all gamers?

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Why some people want a single system to dominate is beyond me...

some People want systems to exist that have a reason to exist and be bought. Like having most exclusives or the better multiplats.
