Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What's Nintendo working on? UPDATE: added the titles announced at E3.

Which franchise would you like to see the most on Wii U?

Luigi's Mansion 30 7.48%

Paper Mario 39 9.73%

Metroid 149 37.16%

F-Zero 56 13.97%

Earthbound 31 7.73%

3D Donkey Kong platformer 21 5.24%

Fire Emblem (not the spin-off) 42 10.47%

Wario Land 3 0.75%

Punch-Out! 8 2.00%

Kid Icarus 18 4.49%

Total:397

I actually forgot about a third party studio, namely AlphaDream Corporation. Their latest project was Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (2013) and their current project is unknown. I added it now.

Oh, and if anyone finds any additional rumours let me know!

I also added the rumour about the possible existence of a THIRD Nintendo EAD Tokyo software development group!

Is it bad that I want all those franchises to appear on the WiiU?

Why would that be bad? All franchises - Awesome! =)

Me, first and foremost I would like to see Metroid but also Earthbound and Fire Emblem. The latter two I am not a huge fan of (sue me) but I do think if they were announced it would attract more gamers who havnt yet bought the system.

I would also love Kid Icarus for the system.

Lol I'm the only one that voted Wario Land

Thank you for this thread! Best overview i saw yet. I really hope that SMTxFE isn't cancelled. Just recently started playing SMT IV as it released in europe a few months ago and i really like it so far.
Aside from that, Paper Mario.

Playing: F1 2016 (PC), Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4)
Watching: Hajime no Ippo, Attack on Titan (4th time)
Upcoming purchases in October:
-TBD

Great work! Although I can't remember that they devoted a whole team (Tokyo 1) for the Zelda 64 3DS remakes, wasn't that just a few Nintendo supervisors who helped Grezzo?

Yep.

That's what I remember as well. But I could be wrong though

it would be very awesome indeed, but Nintendo is simply not able to bring all those games sadly...

Yeah, I'm not really sure what's up with Nintendo EAD Tokyo software development group no. 1. They made SMG, but after that nothing special. I guess Nintendo relocated the developers after that? I would appreciate it if someone could clarify this for me. If that's possible even.

Nope! I personally don't care for F-Zero, I only included it in the poll because I know many people do like it. All the other franchises are those I want to see on the Wii U! Although I hope Kid Icarus abandons its onrail shooter aspects and becomes more Metroid-ish, like the original game. The original Metroid and Kid Icarus were similar. I would love a Nintendo game based on mythology, exploration and getting more powerful along the journey. And scrap all that modern stuff BS! :p

Basically a third person Metroid game set in a mythological past, that's what I want from Kid Icarus.

I added Camelot Software Planning as a third party studio that develops games for Nintendo. Their latest projects were Mario Tennis: Open Tour (2012) and Mario Golf: World Tour (2014). Their current project is unknown. Who said Nintendo didn't have third party support? :p
