Minecraft Creator Outbids Jay-Z and Beyonce for $70 Million Mansion
Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson has outbid artists Jay-Z and Beyonce to purchase a $70 million mansion in Beverly Hills.
Described in the actual listing as "an overwhelming sensory experience," the mansion is made up of eight bedrooms, fifteen bathrooms, a pool, a candy room, a car showroom, and a movie theater, among others.
According to Persson's representatives, $70 million dollars is the highest price ever paid for a home in Beverly Hills. The house has been on the market since August, and Jay-Z and Beyonce were the highest bidders before Persson closed the deal.
Persson acquired a large amount of money from his creation of Minecraft, a popular sandbox building game available on nearly every modern platform.
