It'll reach 10 million easily.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how far over 10 million it goes. The sequels sales could be absolutely massive.

i hope they wont make a sequel.
just let it be a nice standalone

or maybe a spin of (story wise) if the need to milk the name

Pretty sure there will be a sequel.

I loved The Last of Us and I'd love a sequel. I just want to see more of their journey.

It'll do it before the year's end. And it'll be a glorious day when Sony announce the number. I have a feeling we will hear it at the Playstation Experience.

Just a matter of time, TLOU will pass 10M, and it deserves. One of the best adventure I have ever played in years.

I think theres alot of confusion when it comes to totaling game sales. TLOU RM is a separate game to TLOU on PS3, adding them both together is odd. Thats like adding God Of War trilogy to the God Of War games sales, or Comparing Halo on Xbox and adding Halo Anniversary to its total sales count or Wind Waker to Wind Waker HD.. it doesnt work like that. TLOU on PS3 sold 7m, TLOU RM on PS4 sold 1+m plain and simple. The Bundles will help raise the PS4 TLOU RM while the PS3 has stopped at 7m, and to claim TLOU sold 10m is quite stupid in my opinion. That goes for all games and there remakes. I call it cheap sales, you can continue to make a game multiple times and release it every year and have a classic game sell way above 10m+ if companies wanted to. Point is 2 different games on 2 different systems.

People are adding the two for the same reason we add the sales of multi-plats, even if they released later on one platform (e.g. Mass Effect). TLOU:R is functionally just a next-gen port that released late (a GOTY edition really). Adding the two makes sense in certain situations. It's not quite the same as adding the sales of a remake that comes out 5/10+ years later.

Can anyone remember the last new "exclusive" IP that sold 10 million?

Nintendogs, Brain Age, Wii Fit, Wii Sports (would have easily sold at least 20 mio even without bundling), non-Nintendo: Just Dance, Minecraft

Just Dance did not reach 10m+ with its first outing. You're right about the rest though.

True, and JD it isn't even exclusive, so I shouldn't have listed it anyway. Minecraft was a PC exclusive for a pretty long time though, and it sold a whooping 17.36 on PC/Mac alone according to their own stats page (they currently still sell 12.000 copies per day).

Yup I guess you could say Minecraft was the last exclusive new IP to sell 10m+

Definitely!

Considering all the bundles it's part of, I wouldn't be surprised if it passed 10M after Black Friday. If not, then it'll probably be by the end of this year.

realistically, how much more could it sell? 12-13 million?
