:/ So, terrific FW for Pokemon, but kind of disappointing HW bump for 3DS. It has indeed reached a worrying level of saturation. Nintendo really needs to address this, it has to find a way to compete with the mobile market, mainly for next gen. And seriously why didn't they tried to get WE to 3DS -.-

And One Piece is failing really hard, what a bomba.

WiiU y u no hold :/ , sadly SSB effect will be greatly needed yet insignificant in the long run. Captain Toad should sell the initial shipment, same with Taiko, although that's a crappy FW.

PS3 refuses to go into oblivion, HW is quite low yet SW is very strong.

Xbox HW numbers are very sad.

Does it really matter how much it is above the next placed console by? While those figures may not be great compared to other countries it is still the #1 selling console in Japan at the moment.

I agree with Nirvana to some degree. PS4 isn't awful, but it's not doing very well. I'd place 3DS same category. 88k isn't awful, but that type of boost is not very good. Especially with the new 3DS releasing so recently.

I feel that Vita sales are going through a sine wave... I believe its sales were around 19k the week before. Phantasy Star Nova is coming up soon and will boost Vita sales.

PS4 is hanging on above 10k, but it's still not spectacular. I'm hoping that it can achieve a much higher baseline than that next year.

Love as much as you want. That is what Kapan is capable of these days deal with it. In 2014 these are great sales for a console. Quit living in 1990.


Half of what you stated made absolutely no sense at all but I will still try and address it. Japan is capable of much better sales. Lack of Japanese centric games is a factor. Spin it however you want, 11k in sales is terrible. Hell, the way it is tracking the PS4 will substantially fall short of the WiiU's first year of sales in Japan (which is god awfiul itself). Also, maybe you don't look at actual numbers but I'm pretty sure the previous 2 generations were not in the 1990's. Nice attempt at an insult but maybe you should have thought that one through.

Weak 3DS boost shows the hardware has reached its maturity, we've had every big franchise under the sun now and things are going downwards. At this point Nintendo be looking at a phone-DS hybrid for their next handheld system?


Obviously?...teigaga face the truth!As for 3ds face the truth again!Japan's recession affects console sales!ps4 hasn't a decent future if 3ds doesn't get a big boost even if the pokemon games are remakes...!

Ps4 has no big japanese games right now yet sales are increasing(even third party Western games are boosting PS4 over there)

 

Imagine when a Dragon quest/Persona/Final fantasy come out

PS4 has a special white edition

I mean, that would make sense to me. 

I have a feeling 3DS might be reaching it's max market potential in Japan soon. So you could be right.

Yes, yes it does. You stated " comparatively speaking they are nice", which is why I pointed out that you were drawing straws as the PS4 only outsold the Wii U by 3k. It's lackluster sales, plain and simple.
