Fair enough.  So the precedent has been set.  Any game below 4000 players during peak hours is dead.  So says ethomaz and NobleTeam360.  I shall sing it from the heavens!!

Killzone have half of that and I'm calling a dead town for months already... almost impossible to get the Platinum because this fucking dead community :(

It is even worst at the times I play because it is different from US users.

How long it takes to find a matche in Killzone?

I´ve just tested the lowest playlists in Titanfall, population showing less than 100 people, and even on those It takes less than one minute to find a game or a lobby if other 2 or 3 playes.

Also, there is a resenable number of first prestige players, 2 or 3 in every game. 20% of new players most of the time.

It´s not like Respaw had a 500mi budget to this game and they need WoW level of players all the time to break even.

*sigh* for a game that was as hyped as Titanfall and for it to only have 4k people playing only 8 months later is dead to me. Not sure how this doesn't make sense, dead in my opinion doesn't mean nobody is playing, just means that not many people are playing anymore. Hate to see the games population once it hits a year.

You can still find a game, though quitters are annoying (mid game).  Too bad more people don't play it, its probably the best online FPS experience in a LONG time.

Only after playing COD AW can you appreciate how much better the movement is in TF (that and no bullshit, peer to peer, lag OVER-compensation making each match a roll of the dice in terms of your connection).

A dev from respawn posted on neogaf today that Titanfall was far more successful then they hoped. In fact it's one of their best selling new IP games. Really happy for them that, not only did that make a game with 60 people and on a low budget, and I believe they had legal issues also.  Imagine the pressure. Fantastic for them and can't wait for TF 2!

I mean forgot the console war and port begging.  This is a tight game that they never stopped supporting.  That's a great devolper and we should be cherishing them for their effort.

I like this post.  I actually hope TF2 comes to PS4 too so that the series can quit getting so much blind hate.  The game is amazing.

Yeah I agree, bought CoD AW and hate it Titanfall is definitely the best shooter available right now (yes even better than Halo (due to all the problems it has run into)

Well since it's Respawn's only IP that wouldn't be a hard achievement.

He said EA, not respawn.

Perhaps he did but you didn't.

Yeah calling BS on this one. There is no way Titanfall has that many people playing it, more spin from MS.

7 million is the number of unique profiles between 360, X1, and PC played Titanfall.

We're talking about people that played new copies, used copies, rentals, digital purchases, and multiple profiles playing Titanfall on the same console.

They give that number out because its bigger than units sold. Other companies do the same thing.

Actually no, other companies don't need to fudge and twist numbers to make themselves and their overhyped game. Stop damage controlling  for M.S. you always seemed to be doing that.

Okay...

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2014/11/01/killzone-shadow-fall-passes-3m-players-mark/

Bungie tends to give information like this but not sales figures. http://www.holdnews.com/destiny-crucible-has-taken-1-billion-lives-100-million-hours-played/

Sony also boasted about Vita sales going up, but neglect to mention they're still abysmal. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/11/17/vita-sales-are-picking-up-thanks-to-ps4-remote-play

90% sounds better than the original figure. http://www.gamezone.com/news/ps-plus-subscriptions-up-90-percent-since-ps4-launch

Again, 60% sounds better than the sales number. http://wiiudaily.com/2014/10/nintendo-uk-says-wii-u-sales-are-up-60-in-the-region/

Those are examples of some companies giving random figures to help make their product seem more popular.

Yep.  Okay, lets say out of the 7M, 3M bought it.  That's still great for a first time IP.  Regardless it's a success and we are getting a sequel.  Kudos.

It probably sold closer to 4 million. We don't know the PC sales and I assume people are buying it digitally on X1.

Numbers like that are certainly encouraging for a sequel. Which will likely be made available to Playstation owners as well.

LOL.

Anyway, great numbers for the best game of the generation thus far imho. And haha @ anyone calling the game dead, unless you're talking PC. I can find a game in seconds on Xbone. That's not dead.
