Forums - Gaming Discussion - XBO catching up quickly to PS4 in worldwide sales - EA CFO

Bah, after reading again the article I think I'm going to apologize to EA and Microsoft and put all my anger on Gamespot bad writing and poor journalism, because like many already said, he seems to be referring to price strategy. He never says XBO is closing the gap of sales, at least not in that article....

I already know I shouldn't believe anything sales related from a gaming site, but I still made the mistake....ugghh.

Well EA put a lot of its eggs in Microsofts basket and the investors want to know why. This is the only thing he can say at the moment that wont piss off Sony/Microsoft or the investors.

I'm pretty sure it benefits EA if both are doing well.  Think it through a little bit.

EA, still in bed with MS, I see.

You picked the wrong horse before the generation began. Get over it and move on.

Pls shareholders, we made the right decision when we gave xbox exclusivity on bf4 dlc, PvZGW, peggle 2, titanfall, FIFA UT content, and other ea sports games.

I've seen spins before, but this is either a bold-faced lie or someone blindly hoping it to be true against the evidence.

I'm thinking the same as NeoGaf: he's saying Microsoft is catching up in terms of bundles and pricing, not sales.

which would be strange since X1 have a lot better deals since TF release, maybe even from FM5 time...

We could say that now for BF Sony is starting to catch up with GTA5 TLOUR bundle for 400 against AC IV + U X1 for 330. Sony still have ways to catch, altough they don't need it to sell well.

I think he means that weekly worldwide sales have been catching up to PS4, not lifetime worldwide sales.

VGC has the worldwide gap at just 19k for the first week of November, 434k PS4's to 415k Xbox One's.

Not really sure it's logical to be trusting any PS4 numbers from VGC, anymore.  They're 275K undertracked in Germany alone.

It would be funny to see MS release their sold through numbers and then see Shu Yoshi saying that if VGC numbers are to be trusted.

I would say so - we should all take a deep breath and not overeact to every poorly worded PR statement...
