As you know, Nintendo's latest console turns 2 years old today, my question is how much do you expect it to last, now for the sake of making this more entertaining I chose 2 definitions of what "last" means so:

  • The ammount of time between launch and the last Nintendo title published for it.
  • The ammount of time between time and when it was discontinued.
The history of the other Nintendo consoles to help out.

So yeah, that's that.

Around the Network

2 more. 3 at best and that being optimistic and not into reality realm.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

4-5 years like the GC

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

3-4 years.. I think Nintendo will do it a litle faster this time

(not becourse of how WiiU is selling.. but becourse it's the "masterplan")

2015 peak year
Launch games until 2018, year of the sucessor
descontinued in 2019.

Around the Network

I think at around the next E3 the rumors of their next console will be swirling, but by the following E3 (2016) it will be announced with a release date. So 4 year for the wimpy Wii U

PSN & XBOX GT : cutzman25

2 more years for sure
3 maybe
4 highly unlikely

So 4 or 5 years of life. That's kind of sad :/

Ah the Wii U. This generations Sega Saturn. Underestimated, undersold and underloved despite awesome first party content

I believe that the Wii U will have another 3 solid years of support after this., with the next Nintendo console launch in it's 5th year (2017)

" Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Obedience To God"

5 is the minimum,6 is the maximum! We have been informed from interviews that it will be supported till the end(so a 4 year LT are not enough for what they are promising, also zelda releases in the end of 2015,they will show a new console in 2016?FACEPALM) and won t be abandonded. However, some refuse to understand it!
wii u hasn t got a price cut yet.
Gamegube got two consecutive price cuts in its first two years,a fact that signaled its shorter life.
