ahh i see yeah wii and ps3/360 remake was bad nothing really lime original. Rares fps games and 3d platformers where so good its ridiculous. now of course they look crap but back then they were so much better than anything sega or sony could offer imo

This was actually true for me as well, at least in the N64 days. Rare almost single handedly carried that console. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing.. And the DKC series is still one of my favorite franchises on SNES. Though for some reason once the 90s ended, Rare decded to stop making great games and pretty much turned to crap, and went back to Nintendo full time as my company of choice.

If my parents bought me games when I was a kid maybe I'd like rare today as well. But I can sadly only judge them by my own (modern) standards now!

I'm sure it just depends on how old you were when those games came out. The only Rare games that I ever really cared for were Goldeneye and Conkers. The rest were pretty meh IMO.

I joined in Wii/DS era. As a casual playing Wii sports + Mario Mario Mario and MarioKart.(before it was great PC games.)

Coming into 3DS era........more and more hardcore. Since 2013 I consider myself a hardcore gamer. Knowing about games, following news about them ect.

So no......I never played a Rare game and give -1 shits about them.

Curses, using my favorite video game against me, eh? Seriously though I agree with you, Rare was amazing back in the SNES/N64 days. They even created my favorite Nintendo character, how could I not love them? And you're right, the brand is holding Mario Kart back from using things like flying or boating but tbh I'd rather have them make Diddy Kong Racing 2 then have those things implemented into Mario Kart. It would give them more variety of racing games and for the love of God I just want Diddy Kong Racing 2 to be made already!

I too loved rare. Goldeneye and Perfect, those still place among the best games I've ever played. They're still the best fps I've ever played and were the games that made me fall in love with the fps genre. Last 10 years I lost that love. Rara is gone and so are those days when every game was fresh and something new. Nowadays all you have are rippoffs.
Rare was great, but I believe if they still existed, they would be just a shadow of what they once were. Rare is gone...
