While this is a valid point i would also like to add that the entry point of $399 allows for  more gammers to adopt this system earlier where as laast gen they had to wait for the price to drop.

PS4 has all the multiplatforms, they have the same effect than exclusives since it's the dominative console, it will be enough

I will change my prediction based on Q3 and Q4 results.

Of course its going to be the Wii. Just no way the PS hts 50M in the next 17/18 months. I expect it to cross 50M in 2016 though, just not by march.

For what its worth I also expect it to sell more than the wii in its lifetime. I have it pegged at 125M lifetime for the PS4.

Wii will pass PS4 this holiday quarter but until now PS4 is ahead... not a big deal but people on the thread had a hard time to accept that.

Just looking at early 2015 the line up is freaking insane, looks like a holidays line up.

Can you explain how sony will ship 15'0m in FY2014 if they've already shipped 6m until 30 September??, Are you saying Sony will only ship 9m during holiday season + Jan-Mar???

I think I'm going to say something I never expeted to....YOU ARE UNDERTRACKING PS4!!

Using the first to 50mil threshold i believe Wii will beat PS4 if nothing changes. However if sales pick up in Japan and we see a price drop who knows.

I think Sony will end with 20 million shipped at the end of the year... that means more 6.5m in holidays... and in Q4 they will ship more 2.5m PS4.

It can do better because there is a lot of big releases and bundles in Q4 (Jan-Mar)... maybe they can ship 3.0-3.5m in Q4... that menas ~16 million FY2014.

I believe Wii will reach the first 50M and perhaps both will reach 80M around the same time but certainly PS4 will reach 100M first.

But who knows, most didn't expect 7M in March or 20M as a possibility for Jan 1st Y15. PS4 is leaving everyone speechless as much as Wii on how much it is suceeding above the expected.
