Forums - Sales Discussion - XBO and PS4 are selling upwards of 50K units combined a week in the UK at the moment

Did you check PS360 during Octobers past? 2011 they were above 40k combined every week. And that was 2011 when the gen was starting to tank, if we had 08/09 figures I can only imaging what they were doing.

2011 was the peak year for both Xbox 360 and PS3. This is the first year for PS4 and Xbox One, traditionally the lowest until the tail end of the gen. And even then, they did not average 50k.

Where's that article? In any case, I already said it could have been misinterpreted or badly worded.

But whatever. Believe what you will. If you think they're selling over 50k every week with any consistency be my guest. I guess we expect 300k a week combined every week of December too.

In the MCV magazine.

Also we are basically in the holiday months right now. A December week could get as high as 300k. Depends on how MS and Sony push this Holiday.

A week. Not every week. Man, I hope we get some hard data because I'm 100% confident they have not averaged 50k a week in Sep-Oct.

Any hard data we would get would be from the same guys that said 50k a week. So don't expect VGC to say that much different

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

Yeah we get data from those guys and he doesn't believe it so he hopes to get hard date from the same guys that proof him right?

Nope. I get a vague "are selling at the moment" and I want numbers for those weeks. I never said I don't belive the guy, reread the thread.

Looks like a 30k vs 20k case... so nothing changed... the gap is growing

50k is a lot! I agree with other people that 50k is too high.

well we already know the ONE is undertracked. The UK is clearly one of the places where it is happening.

Have to agree.

6.2m end of September is my guess. With the WiiU-XB1 gap below 1m

Might I ask why you think the One is 6.2m? That would mean the numbers for the ROTW is almost equal to that of the US for 2014, while that wasn't really the case in most of the original 13 countries the One was in, and the 29 new ones would only have 1 months worth of sales at most.

I suspect these figures are true.

The video game market in the UK is huge. Far greater than the rest of Europe and more and more supermarkets are increasing their video game isles.

Both PS4 and X1 have to be undertracked. Not sure about Wii/u though, everywhere you go, the isles seem to be shrinking. I vagueley remember a store announcing (asda perhaps) they are not going to stock wii consoles anymore.
