Forums - Sony Discussion - Bloomber article: Sony Shareholders Have Too Much Patience

I guess, I was kinda wrong when I said Sony would be bought out by the Japanese Government because with Abe they kinda like doing it already. lol!

But seriously Sony has to stop doing stupid moves like they did with their Mobile Phone Division, I mean its like their going to do a TV Division 2.0 here.

Yeah, it's really frustrating to see that there's always that one division that costs Sony a crazy amount of money. At least right now, they're downsizing their mobile phone division. I think they're going to stop making low to mid-end phones and only stick with flagships. There were also reports that starting with the Z4, Sony will stop updating the Xperia bianually and only do it once a year. Hopefully, all this will, at the worst, reduce losses so that they do not overshadow profits from their other divisions.

Lets hope so because they kinda kept the TV division for a freaking decade or so and bleed almost to death because of it. :/

Yeah, that was not.... a good decision. As much as I like Sony's Xperia devices, if their mobile division keeps losing loads of money, they need to drop it.

I think they are also creating tablets or something. They should just drop that already because I didn't even know they were making those. lol! Bad bad bad... :/

So if sony goes down what will happen to playstation? Serious question.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Their tablets are also part of the Xperia brand. My cousin (from Taiwan) actually owns their Xperia phablet. It's a good product, but... you know, the average consumer doesn't particularly care since it's not an iPad or a Galaxy (and I personally dislike phablets). *Sighs* Either Sony just makes a few models or drop out entirely. Making as many models as they did this year was a big no-no.

Yeah and I'm not sure if Sony even advertised their tablets. I mean I never knew they even existed to begin with. :/

Well, here's their Xperia Z3 commercial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFM4DSJHs5w ). It does a good job advertising the phone's strengths and selling points like taking pictures underwater, PS4 Remote Play, and low light video recording. But as I've said before, it's not a Galaxy or an iPhone, so for many people, who cares?

There is no guarantee that PlayStation 4 would survive Sony's destruction.

In general, large companies have trouble acting rationally because there is no market for internally exchanged goods and services. With no markets, and no market prices, there is no telling whether a given internal exchange generates financial gains or losses. If the company is liquidated and if the PS4 division is laid bare, then it is possible that it will be exposed as an engine of financial destruction that was propped up by other parts of the company.

My prediction is that the Bank of Japan will prop up all of Sony, ultimately ending in a hyperinflationary depression in Japan and a total, catastrophic collapse of the Yen.

It would be insane for Japan to encounter hyper-inflation, though since you seem to be espousing the model that's currently running Sears into the ground, i'm not sure how serious you are.
