Dev Explains Why Ether One Is Not Coming On Xbox One, ‘None of the Team Are Xbox Players’

Pete Bottomley’s response: “There’s not really much to say”.


White Paper Games’ Ether One may not be the most inventive new adventure game but it certainly incorporates an interesting approach, allowing you to do things the easier way or embark on a more difficult quest throughout. It will be heading to PS4 eventually though and making the jump to Unreal Engine 4 but will it ever come to the Xbox One?

We spoke to designer Pete Bottomley about the game’s absence on Xbox One, who replied that, “There’s not really much to say. Sony contacted us first and were really excited about getting Ether One onto the platform.

“It feels like a good partnership and the whole PlayStation team has been great to work with. No one from XBOX has contacted us and none of the team are XBOX players so it wasn’t really a consideration.”

I don't understand why ''How Sony Money-Hatted Ether One'' is a title for this thread, It's just a title for trolling or for gaining traffic and audience.

Well is it surprising with a headline like that? They clearly just went for Sony because a) Sony contacted them first and b) a bigger install base will make them more money.

If Sony dosen't moneyhat, it's "moneyhatting"?

Not really asking, because just like you've mentioned earlier. I just came in here to laugh at you.
The game does look good though.

I would imagine most developers make the type of games they would like to play.

Why so much surprise? There is a lot of indie developers that made their games avaiable on nintendo consoles because of that, that dream about putting their own game on the plattaform they played when kids. They are about making game, not bussiness most of the time.
