I was banned before the NPD thread so only getting around to this now. I noticed all consoles (i think) were under trakced on VGchartz for the month. The PS4 was obviously the standout given it was undertracked by so much. How likely is it the PS4 and some of the other consoles have also been undertracked for the rest of the world. That's the small region outside the Global US and it includes places like Europe, Japan, Asia and the ROW. 

If my numbers are correct before September NPD the US was overtracked for the PS4 because they didn't know what regions to put the extra units. Now it's slightly under tracked in the US so those extra units plus all the other that were not being tracked have to go somewhere else. Could places like ASIA, ROW, EU have had a much bigger destiny lift than VGchartz shows? It's also possible the X1 did a bit better too. 

WHen will SOny likely give us uptodate shipment numbers?

When sony announced 10m they raised doubt and implied they are not to be trusted. Why would they adjust on the next milestone announcement or shipments figures given their history or lack there of such action as far as PS4 numbers ?

15 or 20 million sold would be a logical announcement form Sony.

Dont they do quarterly numbers. I know they split is between console sales(PS3+4) but you can assume a large amount are PS4's and if they dont announce a milestone(like Aphelion above) I would say announce rounded to the nearest million at the end of the year.

Sony is giving us updated data each 3 months... example:

Sony Aug 6th: Over 10 million
VGC Aug 2nd: 9,626,477

Both sold to consumer... VGC > 300k undertracked.

And yes... it is undertracked after Aug 2nd too like the NPD showed us... the Sony sales baseline is a lot better than what VGC shows.

what about destiny ps4 bundle? just us and europe, or even in the rest of the world available?
if something is undertracked in one Region, it doesnt have to be in all

edit: ps4 ltd numbers ist just fine in the us right now, beside being undertracked 130k in september. it was just overtracked 100k end of august :D

Eh, Destiny week was huuuuge in ROW. It did 100k! Only in ROW! That's a fuckin lot.

So at least ROW I don't think is undertracked, EU is anyones guess.

PS4 is undertracked in Europe and ROW... the 10 million sold is showed here like ~9.7m.

After that we just know it is under in US but it is fine suppose it is under in others places too.

Tracking? I thought this was a gaming site focused on wild prognostications of it users!

I think that people need to take the numbers here and just accept them for what they are, GUESStimates. The sooner you do that, the easier it is to not let them bug you.

Oh I know it's undertracked until august, but I assumed that the OP was talking about september only.

I think this goes counter logic. VGC has the best tracking in US so the numbers are far off. And it has the worst tracking in the rest of the world so they must be pretty close.

I call it the Pachter Syndrome.
