Forums - Sony Discussion - Polygon lowers DriveClub review score due to ongoing server problems

They just apply it really inconsistently

See the SimCity review, when everything worked fine again they went back on their initial review

This is also a really flawed concept. The game is just as good, but doesn't work for many people. It just undermines the issue with review scores

Will they increase the score again when the server issues are gone? Will they increase the score when all the free content cumulates?

Reactionary score adjustments are silly. They may be justified but they are useless if you don't follow it through and retroactively change all scores of all games that had significant changes to them.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Rightfully so, if a vital piece of the game doesn't work, it should be punished. Just like SimCity 2013 and Battlefield. This trend of releasing broken games is also beyond worrying and would be unacceptable in any other industry, but gullible gamers easily swayed by pretty pictures, they'll just take it.

Disregarding Driveclub for a moment, I really wish that more review outlets would take the time to update their reviews when needed. These days games can change so much after release, in some cases more than others, it's really only fair.

Given how, for example, Forza 5 released and what the game is now, I say yes, they should adjust their reviews!

no they shoudlnt.

A gamne should be reviewd for what it is day one.

Then every review should be redone for DC leaving out the online part of the game, on of the center parts around that game.

Good to hear.
I hope they give a 0 to the ps+ edition.

People still care what Polygon writes? That's probably the biggest news out of all of this.  Driveclub has issues, absolutely, but why lower yourself to going to Polygon?

Oh cool didn't know this was a thing. Hopefully they can adjust their Bayonetta 2 score up once they admit that an author's fear of female sexuality shouldn't be reflected in a game's score.

''fear'' loool, I think its about time I finally read that review!

And they should have waited to review and grade it? I think so.
