Forums - Gaming Discussion - I'm thinking about getting an Xperia Z3 for PS4 remote play

I'm using the z3 now you won't be disappointed, I got home and threw it straight in my fishtank to test it out and got some very good fish selfies! You can pick the attachment up for £12.50 on amazon and also look to buy the magnetic dock!

At first I thought you were trying to destroy it like a dick, then I remembered its waterproof... how did I forget that I watch porn YouTube in the shower all the time on my Z Ultra.

I'm a bit disappointed this doesn't apply to the z2, it's a 2.3 quad core apposed to the z3's 2.5 quad core

Anyway I'd say go for the z3 over iphone 6....none likes a bendy phone

Why not the Z2, they are bascially identical phones in every freaking way besides the cpu clock speed.

It doesn't have the remote play feature though. The Z3 has new camera lens for better night shots, stronger front facing stereospeakers, and also the highest rating against water and dust.

what i meant: 'why doesnt the z2 have remote play too?' sorry for the confusion

remote feature is software, on GAF they could transfer the remote play feature via a rooted phone and xperia z3 firmware. The phones are basically identical is what i was getting at and didnt phrase my question properly. Was expressing my displeasure with the fact its not available on my Z2.

Part of me just wanting to prove it actually worked and not some marketing rubbish, went against all normal thought was more relieved when it worked!

Also if you've got a decent set of cans the music upscaling is fantastic, have gone through most of my library enjoying older music again - very glad I've finally left apple!

Thanx guys, good to hear feedback. Now if Tmobile would just announce a release date, Verizon is getting it on the 23rd I think. Can't wait to mess with people with the waterproof aspect.

Anybody else? I have a cheap windows phone I'm unattached to and I've been wanting a new phone for a while. I was looking into the iPhone 6 but PS4 remote play is definitely a feature I would use a lot. I have a vita but the lack of l2 and r2 make some games unplayable/uncomfortable. Seeing the Xperia Z3 connected to a dualshock 4 looks amazing to me. I hope it'll have the same option the vita has to hook up directly to the PS4 and not just over local wifi, the direct connection is smooth and doesn't drop unless u move too far from the console. Plus the Xperia has a bunch of other cool features and is really a nice premium smartphone. Plus I want the 5.2" option, which is a tad larger than the vitas screen. Can't wait to see a release date from tmobile. Anybody else going to get one?

Shadow of Mordor via remoteplay, that'll be fun.

I have an Xperia Z1, and am extremely happy with it. Xperia Z-line phones are always the best in class, and you will definitely appreciate the move to Android from a horrible WP operating system. More apps, better interface, and of course the PS4 connectivity with the Z3 line is really a great advantage.

I say buy it, I'm very happy with my phone, and will certainly stick with Xperia Z for as long as they keep making it.

The PSvita can connect to the ps4 through wifi on the same wifi network, but the PSvita is also able to connect directly to the PS4 via wifi and actually bypasses the router, do u think the z3 can do the same thing?

I have a Xperia E1, that is all I can afford. You, however, should buy it. You deserve it and can afford it. go for it and enjoy.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I'm getting one, but it isn't just for remote play.  Can't wait to get rid of my current piece of junk...

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

I am always behind on phones. I had got the original Z when it first released and LOVED it. Then it dies sadly so I "upgraded" to the G2 because I got a great deal on it($100 brand new) so that's my current phone for the next few years. But I have heard all great things about the Z3 so I am sure you will love it!
