a lot of people think the ps4 is going to get 50% marketshare for this generation by year's end.  it is my contention that it will not.

sony got its biggest game it had left for the year (destiny) already come out while nintendo and microsoft have yet to release theirs.  

smash bros is certainly going to increase wii u sales, along with the fact that nintendo typically tends to benefit more from holiday sales than the other two.

mcc is going to also cause a huge increase in xbone sales. 

both of these games are going to be hot holiday items. moreso than destiny.

so there is no way that ps4 is going to outsell both of those consoles combined when those games drop. its just not happening, captain.

For 2014 its sitting on 60% marketshare already so i think it will have more than 50% for the year, if your talking LTD, i dont think anyone thinks it will get to 50% by the end of this year.

it could be better. just put a new video up and it hasnt done as well as some of our past videos. but thats ok because we here at the Hot Pop, not only do we specialize in the finest rubber whistle hats on the market, but we also specialize in integrity.

So best you can come up to why not is old remakes and a multi platform game that is already out, ok.

1 - Smash wont do anywhere near kart bump, the console which did sub 40k last week. You overrate the sale push either one can do.  Especially Smash where everything but kart has failed to do much wiiu moving.

2 - Hmcc is awesome to xbox/halo fans, guess what most already own a X1 and are expected to own it for H5. So the people that buy X1 for Hmcc would have done so either way or already own one. They are the most hardcore Xbox people out there in the wild.

PS4 should do it, neither game will stop that from happening.

Nintendo benefitting the most from the holiday season is history. It was like that during the Wii era, but those days are over. During the PS2 era Playstation benefitted the most during the holiday season, that will most probably also be the case during this generation. Smash is a big title, but MK8 was also a big title. Even with MK8 out the Wiiu only sold 1.8 million so far this year. I just don't think it will make much of a difference. I do think that smash will have more effect than MCC, I mean that's not even a new game. Sure it will sell a couple of million units, but Halo 5 will obviously be much bigger.
