Wii U & its Bright Future

The Wii U has been getting ridiculed since its announcement and even more so since the sales have been low. Personally, I think it's deserved. The hate it has been getting is justified. Why?

1) The price was ridiculously high for what it offered

2) Wii U's library basically sucked donkey nuts, it esspecially did in the beginning

3) The name...really? Ew.

just to name a few...

Flash forward and I believe that the Wii U has potential to be a great console. Finally, it is getting the games that every console needs. Fun games. That's all. Nobody buys a system for sales. You don't play sales. No matter what happens sales-wise, the Wii U is bound to have a great library of exclusive games, although small.

Not only that, but these are great times to be a Nintendo fan. A genuine fan. Why? Nintendo is taking more risks than before. While this hasn't done anything for sales, it is bringing some great games, new to Nintendo fans. Some of these include Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade X, Splatoon, and Hyrule Warriors.

Nintendo fans, no. Gamers, rejoice! Wii U is alive & well! Who knows? Wii U could be the next Dreamcast. A console with low sales and a core following that loves it

Its a shame it wont sell well cause it does have great games although its easy to see why it wont sell well. At least Nintendo will continue to support it till the end of its life and thats all I ask for (provided they have great games obviously)

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Every console is great. Except the ones that aren't, like the CD-I or the Jaguar.

I bought one. so it is a huge success.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

If people don't buy it it's because they don't see those games good or they don't find enough good games to justify buying a new console

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Didn't you sell your Wii U?

Yes I did.

I made money off it though. I'm going to buy another one soon

That's perfectly fine. As long as you like it, it's all that matters.

When I was a child, the N64 could've sold under a million for all I knew, it was still awesome to me

It's very obvious as to why it has low sales. Small library, no ads, bad name, no audience beyond Nintendo fans.

All in all though, I'm confident that even sales can pick up. It's still $300 after all.

Wii and ds i guess didn't have a price cut until the 4th years and it's sale was so amazing i don't think price is a big reason for why it sell not a lot

Price isn't even close to being the main factor. A price cut certainly won't cause Wii U to sell like Hotcakes. With that said, it will still help and if Nintendo keeps it alive long enough, it could still pull a mini-comeback.

That's not the important part though. Wii U could get some amazing games and be seen as the next Dreamcast. Low sales with a core following of fans that loved it
