Once again, what does it have to do with anything if a studio is created for a purpose or bought because of a product they created? The way you look at it is that if they are employed directly, like 343i or Polyphony, they don´t have a will of their own, yet if they are in a former third party studio, free will is all they have. I get the feeling you only put this argument out because it fits the nerrative that Sony can do no wrong. I may be wrong.

You do believe Sony have not put any preassure on ND to produce Uncharted games at a high rate? Or that Polyphone have no choice but to put out new GT games? Compare the variety of ND games from the 90´s to the 00´s and now, fewer and fewer new IP´s. They both do this, MS and Sony are afraid to create new IP´s, that is why they push their strongest developers to keep putting out sequels to their strongest franchises.

How do you feel after saying such blatant lies? Are you hoping that in the flow of the post it would strengthen your argument and nobody would be careful enough to notice that it is simply not true? If anything the opposite is true.

Also there are plenty of new IPs coming, DriveClub, Bloodborne and The Order are both new IPs. Then there is the Guerilla new IP, rumored Santa Monica new IP etc etc. There are also many projects that may or may not be new IPs, such as the game the Bend is working on.

err.... that was canned. stig left. the game just wasnt working out well.

dont forget rime, tomorrow children, knack, alienation and everybodies gone to the rapture. also Media Molecule and Quantic Dream are confirmed to work on new IP's too.

Just think about that statement though.

It takes a good number of hours of tedious gameplay to even achieve level 20. I haven't kept track, but surely I've played over 10 hours and I'm level 18.

That's a lot of hours of playing and waiting for it to become genuinely good.

Well...the game is partially an RPG that is breaking new ground for FPS on consoles. I would expect some grinding going on. Its something console gamers will have to get used to that PC gamers have invested in for years. The lines between are dwindling and this game will be growing over the course of ten years. Expect nothing but expansions for this game. Much like WOW it will see an ebb and flow in value. Lets see if they can hold onto the hype unlike Titanfall which started off strong with hype and dropped the ball past the first two months.

Seriously, have you not played Borderlands? Dead Island also went the RPG route. Destiny is not breaking ground but that's okay, I'm just disappointed by how boring the story missions are.

Titanfall is something else. It didn't have the hype and it wasn't promising tons of content. Titanfall is a better PvP game than Destiny, nothing more.

Ugh. All the hate for destiny. I'm enjoying the hell out of it right now. I also enjoyed watch dogs. People just hype themselves up and then get disappointed. Also Bungie not exclusive no more crybaby stealth trolling.

To those who are saying it can't be liberating because they are doing a scifi shooter... It's what they are good at man... Building a new IP in your genre is still a very refreshing thing to do.

Op: good for them. Sticking to one Ip for too long could kill creativity overtime.

Ahhh, the review chit chat. I remember when I said Uncharted must be better than Gears because of reviews and got my head chewed off. I'm with you on this one, though - reviews mean didley if I enjoy the game more than one rated higher.

And all Mario games, Halo games, God of Wars and Gran Turismos can't touch the perfect GTA IV.

Edit: Out of the Park Baseball 2007 is 96 on Metacritic. Resident Evil, Tekken, Red Dead Redemption and Majora's Mask aren't up to this.

Happy for Bungie for being able to do what they want. There's lots of room of improvement for Destiny, but I'm very confident that they'll take that feedback and make an even better game

You're pointing out the obvious. One doesn't need to play the game to see that it is akin to Borderlands in gameplay. I am talking about the overall investment in the universe. It doesn't seem as grand and densely populated now with maps and things, but it will be in the future. You're looking for a stand alone game where there is no stand alone game. The reason I am not disappointed in Destiny just yet is because they told us the first thing we would be seeing in this game is the foundation and it will be built upon over the course of ten years. That is similar to what has been going on with WOW in that respect. It takes time for a grand vision like this to be seen. WOW when it first came out was nowhere as big and diverse as it became via expansions.

Titanfall is nowhere as grand as the vision for destiny. I only used Titanfall because its an FPS, but in no way after seeing everything is its vision anywhere near. Titanfall never promised to be more than it was, but Destiny has been planned out for years and seemingly its only scratching the surface. With Titanfalls first game what you see is what you get. With Destiny, as I said before, its an ebb and flow process that will take place over the course of a decade.

Perhaps I should have spelled it out a little more.

Titanfall didn't have THE HYPE of Destiny. I don't feel Respawn mislead us into beleiving it was something bigger than it actually was. It was just a fun PvP game, as expected.

STAGE seems to agree with me when he said, "Titanfall is nowhere as grand as the vision for destiny."

The hype was still quite huge for Titanfall. Nobody can deny that.

And the jury's still out on whether or not Destiny is less than Bungie led us to believe.

Sorry, I'm not drinking the kool-aid. As is Destiny is a disappointing product especially considering the length of development.

WoW at launch had significantly more depth than Destiny, so I'm going to ignore that comparison.
