I didn't find it fun or enjoyable. I played it for about 2 hours and felt so incredibly disconnected. I also heavily disliked a lot of the mechanics with the conversation system, recruiting, and interaction with NPCs/enemies in dungeons.

The first five hours or so are kinda lame, but once you get to Tokyo the game improves significantly. But if you had gripes with the recruiting and conversation system I'm afraid what you see is what you get.

Planning on running through it again, I just chose to play games I'd rather play.

I know many people who have actually played P4G as their first dive in the series. Because it has a very good word-of-mouth reputation, and most Vita owners at this point must've heard of it at least because it's its must-have.
And as a remake that sold ~800k (latest numbers were +700k global), P5 will easily and undoubtedly crack 1m combined.

Ive never even played a SMT game outside of Persona =P

This comment hurts my soul.

Srsly, you should play an SMT game. They focus less on human interaction than Persona and focus more on demons but damn, they are fun games. Not to mention the alignment system increases replay value.

Well nothing is going to change because PAL regions got screwed over with SMTIV so yeah =(

Yes, it'll be the best selling. May or may not be a great game, but more than likely probably still be worse than SMT Nocturne.

Most definitely. P4G sold really well on a platform that has a small userbase. In addition, expect Sony and Atlus to advertise Persona 5 a lot more than they have advertised previous games.

The large majority believes that Persona 5 is the most successful part. Great = )

It needs a Vita version to break selling records.

You think so? There are a lot more PS3s in Japan (and it's highly anticipated there), the PS4 is popular here, and the VIta is borderline dead in he West. I don't think a Vita version would make that big of a difference in total sales.

P4G is a great game, but that might be the very reason WHY it sold so well. Vita has a much higher proportion of core gamers and it's most likely the best AAA game on the system (at least Metacritic says so; lol). I think it's VERY likely that it will do 1M+, but there's always the chance that the Western gamers on the PS4 will not warm to such a "culturally Japanese" game. Of course, the inherent uniqueness, as well as the lack of few similar games, might be the ace in the hole (which seems more likely, but still...

The series has been building up hype for a while now. I think Persona 5 becoming the best selling title in the series is inevitable.

Would be well deserved after so many years!

Yep, and thanks to that Atlus is going to milk that game to death. Expect a visual novel, a rhtym game, 2 movies, 3 anime series, a remake, merchandise, manga, and whatever Atlus can think of.

At least we'll have a brand-new set of characters, new setting, etc.
