Forums - Gaming Discussion - WII U true failure is not the console or games.

What other opinions are there?

Ones that are based on Evidence and others that hold no weight due to Bias and subjective opinion.

Nintendo's reason for failure will always be its ignorance to the outside opinion. Third parties hold the key to the newest wave of games coming which signify the generation and Nintendo just never listened. They only opened their mind once the Wii U was complete and by then it was too late.

The "evidence" agrees that at the moment the Wii U has a more compelling lineup than PS4 ;)

Games you can't play anywhere else with Meta over 80%

Wii U
Super Mario 3D World - 93%
Mario Kart 8 - 88%
Pikmin 3 - 87%
New Super Mario Bros U - 84%
Donkey Kong Country Returns: Tropical Freeze - 83%
Lego City Undercover - 80%
Pushmo World - 80%

PS4
Resogun/Resogun: Heroes - 84/86%
Infamous: Second Son - 80%

For me, that makes the Wii U worth owning even as a companion system. Btw, you're talking to someone who's primary format is PS4/Vita, I just don't get blinded to the fact that other consoles can also have very good games. If you feel the need to trash them I guess it's more an inferiority complex at your own choice than anything else.

Trolling thread?! All these games can be played by WiiU Pro Controller or WiiMote.

WiiU's weak point is its NAME!

What if you don't wanna spend more?, shouldn't the console come with a controller you like and feel comfortable with?.

If someone likes the gamepad couldn't they complain about the other systems lack of one and expect them to bundle it with say a PS4? That argument works both ways.

You're ommison for TLOU:R show's how biased this list is. Anyways I don't think you understand what Lineup is...

That is misrepresenting actual Evidence.
I never said Nintendo doesn't have very good games. I'm saying that NINTENDO standards of good games doesn't cut it anymore in terms of sales when it comes to modern gaming and it shows.

Among many other problems Nintendo has been doing, doesn't cut it anymore if they want to become number one again in Home Consoles.

I'm using the criteria I've always been given when I've been positive about the Vita. Last of Us is available on PS3 therefore not exclusive to PS4, though I'll be getting the PS4 ver. I also got Metro Redux yesterday and have been enjoying that this weekend. But again, I could have got it elsewhere. This is the Wii U's only remaining strong point.

It'll never come close to no1, but it has a damn good shot at being the accompanying system. If a system is worth buying because it's offering software you can't get elsehwere, it's not an outright failure as there's actually a reason to buy it.

We're not talking about Exclusives we're talking about Options and the amount of games which console has to offer.

It does, only if people are into Nintendo games. Most people only have 1 consoles not 2, and most are satisfied with just one.

It's still got the best 8th gen home console lineup. Whether that is a positive for the Wii U, or just how pathetic the first 12 months have turned out to be for the XB1 and PS4 you can decide.

The problem with this argument?
This year in general even in PC gaming was pretty dry with Triple A's the majority of them aren't coming until later this year and early next year What does WiiU have?

I notice you left games off (smash comes to mind) and run the other list 3 or 4 months longer than the other.  Not a real fair comparison.

I told you, the reason why the list is as it is, is because there is no Set Date for those games. Even than it's just 1 game.

I'll start by saying this is my opinion, some people seem worried that in a thread about opinion people keep giving theirs. I don't mind the gamepad, more often than not though I use the Pro Controller. I've been playing Ghosts on the WiiU quite a bit lately. When playing local I love the asymmetrical gameplay, can't do that on any other system. Off-TV play also can't be done on any other system (opps using facts). Personally I keep the gamepad plugged in on its stand on the coffee table in front of me. I loved its implementation in ZombiU, I found it more immerse / realistic to look down at it for radar since the character isn't using a helmet with a HUD or google glass or what have you. Same went for looking at your inventory, you were supposed to have your nose in your pack not looking around and I thought it added to the tension. I think my views on ZombiU are in the minority though.
