funny how MS still needs to pay Sony for every Xbox one sold too...

talk about being a rich bully and still taking peoples lunch money.

Why would MS need to pay Sony for every XBone sold?

bluray.

Sony doesn't collect royalties from Blu-Ray. The BD Consortium does.

of which Sony is a very prominent member of....

Nope, I'm not getting angry at all, so please stop assuming so. My tone was quite normal, and I did not insult anyone.

I do, however have a problem when you insinuate that I can't seperate fact from opinion. Everything here is an opinion, including your reply you just wrote. Just because you think what you say is correct, doesn't mean others see it that way.

Your right PS3 spent the gen gaining back the trust, and that is exactly what MS will be doing this gen. The only difference is, PS3 spent the first 3-4 years making bad decision after decision. MS corrected all its policies before launch, dropped the mandatory kinect 8 months later, and is comint out with many exclusive titles and constant updates/improvements yet people just can't help but continue to join the mob and bash MS at every turn.

MS should be given credit where its due. PS4 is selling very well, but the OS updates have been very slow, games have been delayed and their 2014 lineup is disappointing, which is my opinion.

Honestly, I see more people crying about Microsoft's treatment, than I do bashing Microsoft anymore.  It gets old after awhile.  Like kicking an infants ass, there's just nothing amusing there.  What I do see a great deal of, is ridiculous predictions that have no hope of happening, goal posts being moved, and salt...oh so much salt.  Now, those individuals get railed on for awhile (or as long as the mods will allow it to continue), but not so much Microsoft anymore.

Nice evasion though, I listed pretty irrefutable facts, PS4 has games, many of them are quality, PS3 made no money for Sony at all, and they spent last gen struggling to compete.  The only thing that's opinion in that sentence is that some of the games are quality (but, it seems to be an opinion shared by many).

Microsoft may eventually turn things around, but not in it's first year-year and a half, no way in hell, not with the things they were attempting to push on the industry.  It'll very likely have the PS3's tack where people wait years till the library really fills out.  Eventually it'll have enough exclusives (provided they don't go to PC, or aren't timed) that it'll be a worthy buy for people on the fence.  But, for folks who are cautious..., it's going to take some time.

And people wonder why I don't like Xbox. If it continues this path it's gonna make me lose my bet.

Both systems have similar amount of blockbusters coming out starting in 2015, which is going to be a crazy year.

I agree with your post. You made some excellent points. It seems the roles are reversed this gen, compared to last gen. MS will have to win back the gamers trust, but it is going to take a long time and then people will eventually forget E3 2013 where MS shot themselves in the foot.

I personally feel like MS will launch the next xbox a year earlier than the next playstation. This strategy paid off extremely well with the Xbox 360 launching a year before the PS3. The 360 went on to steal marketshare and gamers away from PS. I feel like they will do so again next gen, because that is the best way for them to compete. Sony will not be in a rush to launch the PS5 early, because likely the PS4 will be selling very well for many years to come.

all this is you speculating....

I seriously dont know why people keep talking like this and expect Sony to sit back and take it. If you feel like Sony made a mistake releasing much later than MS (even though that wasnt the only blunder on Sony's part last gen) why in god's name would you believe they would do this again. People keep talking like common sense can be only found in a Microsoft board room....

Seriously, Sony isnt that stupid to made the same mistake twice.

I'm not saying it will play out exactly the same way, of course not.

But MS will likely prepare and put forth their best effort, after the mistakes they made this gen. It is similar to how how Sony made all the right moves this gen, because they learned from the PS3 struggles. It seems as if MS got too cocky with the xbox one, just like Sony was with the PS3.

And don't be too quick to think Sony will not repeat mistakes. Maybe not the same mistakes, but often times arrogance comes with winning. Just look at the transition from PS2 (best selling console of all time) to the PS3.

Anyways, we are probably talking about something too far into the future to have relevance here.

Congratulations to the PS4 on its awesome sales. Hopefully MS and Nintendo catch up. Competition is the best for everyone.

I really don't think that will be a great move for Microsoft if they launch a year earlier.  When they launched the XB360, the number of failure rates for their console cost them a lot of money.  The reason Sony lost a lot of consumers over to Microsoft was because of the $600 price tag along with the horrible launch.  Microsoft didn't steal any consumers away last gen.  Rather, Sony were the ones that lost those consumers to Microsoft.  This generation, Microsoft lost the consumers to Sony while also regaining most of the consumers trust back through the last couple of years of the PS3.

If you look more closely, the XB360 numbers are fairly comparible to the PS3 numbers during their respective launches.  If Microsoft comes out a year early during next generation, then Sony can just 1-up all of their hardware specs and come out on top.

This is partially true (although i do not condone the insults/name-calling in any ways) An excellent first impression and marketing have propelled Sony to dominance. It is the continued momentum and hype that people are continously buying into.

Everything Sony does is praised. When they screw gamers (like charging money for online which used to be free) it is ignored or Sony fans make excuses for them.

Everything Microsoft does is criticsized. Microsoft made many mistakes but has worked very hard over the last year to correct them. Every positive thing Microsoft has going for them is turned into a negative. It is sad to see the mob mentality still going strong 1 year later.

So much hate over MS getting Tomb Raider as a timed exclusive when Sony has a long history of doing the same. People have short memories. It seems everyone has forgotten Sony's E3 2006, the disastrous PS3 launch, the Playstation Network hacking scandal where financial and personal information was stolen and compromised. But I guess all that is forgiven now and Sony is your savior? Give it time, and you will see that Sony isn't your friend. They're a business just like MS, and will do whatever it takes to get the most money from you.

My response above is civil and does not include any name-calling or insults, so please do not try to tell me that my response is inapproprate. It is my opinion. Sony was very smart coming into this generation and learned from their mistakes and that is why they are dominating, however it does not mean this success is warranted compared to what the competitor's are offering.

Completely agree.

It's like everyone is hyping up and buying into sex. Even though it hasn't been innovative since like hundreds of years ago. And nobody bats an eye when they raise the price of condoms and prostitutes. In fact those "fans" of sex even defend it by saying it's in a bad economy. Bullshit! If it wasn't so hyped all the time by the biased media it wouldn't sell anything.

On the other hand baby seal clubbing has gotten an unfair bad rep from the start. Sure it is brutal but it learned from its mistakes and is now clubbing the seals in the most humane  way possible. They really turned it around by hosting events and innovating in the clubs. They really have the greatest club lineup of all the leasure activities. The sport should be commended for changing so much for the better.

But no. People are too busy having sex than bludgeon baby animals to death. This world is really screwd up and it's Sony's fault.

Just a terrible post all around lol

Cringe-worthy

I can't think of a better time for a facepalm.
