my ds light and dolphin is enough to get my nitendofix, especially since they are not releasing that many "new" titles

what nintendo do is use old ip's such as mario and add new gameplay mechanics to that franchise, take mario galaxy for example, its no where near the mario sunshine in gameplay terms, i am really suprised that splatoon does not have any major nintendo characters in it, and im really suprised its not called mario paintballing

You came over to this thread too? suspicious.

lol cant stay away from nitendo based threads, bit of a fanboy

I guess we're similar in that way.

I have seen so many people saying that don't have playing on a nintendo console since NES or SNES and they are fine missing SOME nintendo games. They are now with PS/MS consoles and they never "looked back" because Nintendo didn't do anything do caught their attention once again and the reasons are:

No third party support (even when some series are suffering a quality decline)

Graphics (even when the difference are some pixels, particles and textures rendering)

No voice acting

No violence, blood, etc...

Too many cartoonish characters

And i ask myself... what about the game?! Did you played? Watched the gameplay? Because I found these reasons so futile, that i don't even know if some of you are really serious. When you don't play a nintendo console you are not only missing a bunch of platformer games. Instead of turning your back when you see the nintendo logo (or mario's hat), you should see the game and when i say "see" i am not talking about the visuals aspects

Note: I am not talking only about Wii U since i mentioned NES and SNES. Nintendo portable consoles are consoles too, so every single nintendo console is included

You are under valuing the graphics part. Few people are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on something that has the same power as something they've already owned for 5+ years. It simply doesn't seem to be good value for money and as games become more refined on the PS4/XB1, this gap will only become bigger. Hell, Silent Hills, Uncharted 4, Drive Club etc are showing the XB1 as being weak, let alone the WiiU.

His point is that people like you say that games are only good if they have good graphics. Now back up why these games are better because of their graphics.

Pokemon is the only Nintendo game that actually drew me in, odd because I can't for the life of me figure out why kept wanting to play it. Unfortunately for Nintendo they made the game (Diamond I think) impossible to have 2 game saves on one cartridge. So basically because my son had his own game going, all I could do is basically play the game for a short time but not actually have a game save of my own. Which means once I put it down I had no desire to pick it up again. Nintendo's own form of DRM, but this time it's GRM within the family, as opposed to preventing used game sales, weird. I've had my Pokemon experience, became weirdly addicted for a brief period, and now I'm over it.

Every Pokémon game works like this, actually. And don't blame Nintendo for it - they're not the ones who make the games.

Doesn't make it right or reasonable.

Nintendo's the publisher, and if they don't own the IP directly they own all the rights to all intents and purposes. Which means DRM is ultimately the decision of Nintendo not the game maker. If Nintendo said, "make multiple game saves happen" it would happen. If they simply don't give any direction on this it means they tacitly support this form of DRM, which is as worthy of criticism as any pther form of DRM. But it's Nintendo so they get a free pass on it.

It really is one of the reasons I said "fug dis game". If I'd actually been able to play through the whole of Diamond without having to buy my own game, when my son already has it, I may have been very encouraging of (and maybe even contributed to) buying the next game, and the next and the next. As the financial powerhouse of my home I was put off and so I became negatively disposed towards future Pokemon purchases, which means no further Pokemon games have been purchased.

That's a really bad reason to not buy any more Pokemon games. The reason they didn't start out with more than one file was because of limitations on the GameBoy. That's no excuse now, but if you both wanted to play it all the time, would you really want to share it. Again it's not an amazing reason, but there is some.

Actually, it's a very good reason not to buy more Pokemon games. It's the failure of gamers to take a stand on principle that lets game developers and publishers and console makers get away with shit. They know gamers are addicted to this crack so they can get away with consumer abusive practices and there might be some grumbles but they know in the end the gamers will still buy the games. I was fully prepared to not buy PS4 if Sony went down the same DRM path as MS was planning with Xb one. And if Sony had introduced DRM like MS, which would have been a conspiracy between MS and Sony fully supported by 3rd party devs, the PR push to sell this consumer abuse to gamers would have been huge and they would have got away with it. And there were legions of MS Xbox fans willing to eat up that MS DRM shit and call it the finest Belgian chocolate.

If Sony introduced DRM to make it not possible to swap, give away or sell the next TLOU or UC4 I would not be buying the game. If they made it not possible for more than one account on a given PS4 able to play the game I would not buy the game.

It's irrelevant why this limitation existed in the past. The developer and Nintendo are dicks for not using the technology available to remove unjustified restrictions like this. It is also irrelevant whether I want to play the game at the same time as my son. It should be possible to have multiple game saves on one cartridge regardless. If we wanted to coop, or compete or whatever you can do with Pokemon games, then sure we'd buy 2 copies, but that does not justify retaining this game save limitation.

I'm just saying if it did have multiple files, I wouldn't let anyone else play on them. I think you are taking it a little too seriously, every game has it's flaws. It's not like this is a huge conspiracy. Mario and Legend of Zelda have different files. Nintendo isn't trying to scam you. It's just a flaw of the game. If you don't want to buy any games that have any flaws, be my guest. If you buy extremely glitchy games at launch, that's like saying that you're okay with devs not finishing the game before releasing it according to your logic.

ninty games seems more polished.

also there is a Nintendo magic, that we can't see anywhere else.

I feel like there is some sort of appeal to nintendo games, that only nintedo fans understand and we can't thoroughly explain.

A large chunk of Nintendo games appeal to me, but I see why they wouldn't to some people.
