Forums - Microsoft Discussion - China Approves Sale of 5 million Xbox One units

Went into thread expecting a bunch of MS bashing. Expectations validated

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

well, that will be good. That will keep them going for the next 3 generations.

Nintendo needs to hurry up and release in more countries. MS and Sony have sooooo many countries buying the consoles.

And the limit seems, odd to me. Oh well China WILL be huge once all 3 companies join in......

Nintendo has actually been in China since 2002 using the iQue.

Not good enough imho.

I don't see the Wii U or the 3DS there so...

But has nintendo oficially released consoles in china? Or is this another of thouse they can be bought in grey markets? If so then teh same can be said anout all 3 and that way they would not have any marketing in the country corfirming my statement I made a while back.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

This is very interesting to me. Microsoft has made a smart decision to release first in China. It might be the thing to help the console. Imagine a population of 1 Billion recognizing your console first. They can set the stage for something unexpected.

They haven't sold 5 million, it's just the maximum limit of how many they can sell lifetime.

Read the article. 5 million is just the first step. Vendors and analysts expect up to 50m console sales over 5 years. So they expect more consoles to be approved later.

Ahhhhh shiiiieeeet. That is probably gonna be a big bump in sales. Looks the XBO is making its comeback and the Wii U is about to get left in the dust. I remember reading that chinese gamers are more interested in the PS4 but if sony takes too long, it won't matter.

Is about to get interesting!

Okay, I'll reiterate my statement: It's the current maximum limit, but it may change depending on what the Chinese government decides. Doesn't change the fact that this isn't 5 million sold, it's only that they're allowef to sell 5 million.

They expect 50 million console sales for the next 5 years? Yeah, no, that won't happen. (Feel free to necrobump if I'm proven wrong)

They will be lucky to sell 1 million in China. I have a feeling that most customers there are going to prefer the non-region locked Hong Kong versions already available for sale.

You actually expect X1 to do well in China?

PS4s launch won't be too far behind.
