If there was no mods, no admins just no one moderating the forums do you think this is a decent enough group of people that we would have a respectable community?

That's an interesting thought. The problem is that Anarchy requires forces (for or against) to create a natural balance, so with no punishment, anarchy would simply be random hatred/love with no structure. In other words NO.

Nah, the mods here do a great job at filtering out so-called "trolls."

And, yeah, they enforce the rules quite nicely, too. It all makes sense after a while.

It's a forum on a site that deals with a very sensitive topic for fanboys (console sales/success), any kind of quality discussion is impossible without constant mod intervention. The community may be able to hold it together in the short term, but in the long run the idiots would just pile up more and more until the forum digressed into a shit throwing competition.

My prawn collection would kill at least 75% of the community via endless fapping so I think its good that we have the mods around to make sure that doesn't happen

The forums would go to shit. The place would be flooded with immature trolls. Rational discussion will no longer be had. The regular members would get frustrated and leave. The fanboys will come out of hiding and fight it out. The fun loving posters who use wit for lulz will be overshadowed by the fanboys arguing and will eventually leave or come out of fanboy slumber and join in on the childish insults.

Not much. The threads would have a lot more posts with all these fanboys bickering with each other. I guess without mods the minorities would've been driven out here by now.
