Yoshis New Island randomly got a sales boost? What happened? Was it heavily discounted or even free in stores?

Its 2nd week bro :)

WHAT?

*looks at release date in the OP*

I have shamed myself once again.

But seriously, its only in its 2nd week? How odd.

3ds is strong while the ps4 still is getting weaker. They need deep down there.

Deep Down wont stop those PS4 sales from being deep down on the charts. Its a download F2P game with average receptions from the demos at events.

Do Japanese even like F2P games? I was semi interested in it, but once I heard it was F2P I really dont care much about it anymore.

Japan are huge on F2P games, probably moreso than anyone else. But a console F2P game on a console few people own with no other major selling points, I cant see it doing great or pushing HW much. It really needs games like MGS, FF, KH, RE, Tales of, Exclusive Yakuza, Exclusive Musou and maybe a sequel to Dragons Dogma which hit big in Japan.

Well they love mobile stuff and most of that is F2P.

True, but I view F2P mobile games as vastly different creatures to F2P console games.

Could be a game to crack the F2P concept into the current gen..... or simply its Capcom after quick cash.......

Is Sony guilty of taking the Japanese for granted? Did they think that by just launching a new console Japanese gamers would just eat it up?

I don't think that they thought japanese gamers would eat it up, Japan just isn't their priority with the PS4. I mean if I was launching a console and had limited resources, then I would also concentrate on the west, which has a way more homogeneous taste and is a way bigger market, rather than then japanese market, which basically needs its totally unique software.

I mean they could've launched the PS4 even later over there but I don't think that would've helped them either, they'll just have to work together with japanese third party developers and then wait for their games to drop.

Moreso!? I thought maybe a little less than say America, but would explain the great decline in home console sales.

I honestly dont expect it to push many consoles but am surprised to hear Dragons Dogma sold well. I wouldnt mind a sequel tbh.

It really needs and will hopefully get as much third party games as the PS3 had/has, a big game every now and then isn't gonna work in Japan, they need a steady stream of games like the PS3 has in Japan to this day.

While this isnt strictly F2P most games on the mobile market are and thats where the money is made. I guess US>JP when it comes to F2P PC though

Sonipro as bad as I expected from Tsutaya. ImageEpoch must be in ruins and they had it coming.

I'll just send a reminder in case they still don't remember who are their costumers.
