Forums - Gaming Discussion - Hyrule Warriors: Why Does Nintendo Hate Online Play?

This is one of the reasons why as much I love Nintendo games, as a company it's probably for the best that Sony leads the industry and not Nintendo. Nintendo is too stubborn about a great many things, even in the year 2014, they still shy away from properly executing an online philosophy that makes any sense.

ps. I still wish they would add local co op and online multi player to Lego City -  that is aero ect game for fathers to play w thier kids and kids to play online w thier friends

Seriously. This. What the hell were they thinking not putting at LEAST local co op in Lego City? Just about every Lego game ever has local co-op, it's one of the series' biggest draws! This could have been huge! Co-op GTA with Legos! But no, they had to fuck that up, and now the game didn't even sell a million.

Nintendo did NOT develop that game. Let alone, that game has zero reason to have co-op. The reason the other lego games have co-op (and they don't have online co-op) is because Tt designs the game to be locally fun. Whether it's single player or local 2 player co-op. It just does not work for a game where you have one main character. Need I remind you, God of War Ascension...

Nintendo paid for the game - I assure you if they had wanted local and or online Co op it would have been in the game-   That is how business works

Because Nintendo stated already 1.000.000 times that playing with someone who stands next to you makes 1.000.000.000 times more fun. I know that people would like to have an online mode, and myself too, but these threads no one need becaue we already know why Nintendo is doing this. This must not be discussed 1.000.000 times!!!

Then Nintendo needs to do a better job convincing the millions of people buying consoles and software that are not theirs that they are not having as much fun playing online -   But I think most people playing online know what is more fun for them and thier families

Honestly though it is more about the investment Nintendo needs to make

This has absolutely nothing to do with any investement Nintendo want to make or not to make, Nintendo simply thinks that playing together with someone at your side is more fun, and they are right in my opinion. But that does not mean that it is no mistake to not implement an online function, Nintendo really should implement an online function so that everyone can decide for their own if they want to play online or offline co-op ;)

I agree w most of what you said ( I also refer local play but think they should make online an option). - I also know that Nintendo says they do local co op because it's more fun etc....   But just because they say it does not mean it is true-  how many statements has Reggie made that are complete bs?  Plenty-   Nintendo do is not going to say they are not willing to spend the money time etc to please the market place - they will spin It the best they can

They probably don't think sales and the amount of players online will justify or pay the cost for running the servers, that's my guess.

I almost always prefer local multiplayer, will still buy day one, just a slight disappointment that I won't be able to do online with my best bud

Nintendo paid for exclusivity. Have you even played the game? The story makes ZERO sense for co-op.

I have not played Hyrule Warriors or other Warriors game but from what I have read most of the recent Warriors games have online co op

Gamers are such whiners, online mutiplayer and co-op sucks man, Im glad Nintendo are keeping local multiplayer alive. Local trumps online, online play is turning people into socially awkward cyborgs. I refuse to buy battlefield, titanfall etc that dont have local multiplayer, online multiplayer is dumb just turns you into a robot.

Stop complaining deal with it. Instead of whaaah whaaah I want this I want that. Dont buy the game and do something more productive with your time which will help you achieve something in life.

It is ok! Love that game!
