But what's this online battle adventure mode?

Do we get to fight each other online, instead of co-op? Because this is still an online mode being advertised.

Just because there's no online co-op doesn't mean there's no online at all in some form, besides Miiverse and DLC.

Exactly. People jump to conclusions way to quickly.. A PvP mode would be epic!

To be perfectly honest,  I think a PvP mode would be much better than a co-op mode!

IMO they don t want to spend the money it takes or the extra time it takes

That's why we don't pay for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Servers. nintendo provides them, while japanes have to pay

We don t play much online in our home but probably will more over time as the kids get older - but I understand why it is important to many and I think it is important for Nintendo to bring more online functionality to many of its games -  I also think it is ok if they had a free online program like now but also a more enhanced value add program that you paid a sub for -  but they would need to have more online functionality to more of their games to have a true value add sub service

ps. I still wish they would add local co op and online multi player to Lego City -  that is aero ect game for fathers to play w thier kids and kids to play online w thier friends

This used to be a good Co-op oriented site:

Aww man. That's really disappointing. I mean, I'd still get the game even if there was no multiplayer and Link was the only playable character, but this certainly sucks. This would have been one game I'd have played a lot of online. Probably would have played more of this than I do of Mario Kart.

Edit: apparently some are saying there might still be PvP? That might honestly be even better, though I do still love me some co-op, and I don't see why they can have one but not the other. We'll see. Either way, day one purchase for me no matter what.

Because Nintendo stated already 1.000.000 times that playing with someone who stands next to you makes 1.000.000.000 times more fun. I know that people would like to have an online mode, and myself too, but these threads no one need becaue we already know why Nintendo is doing this. This must not be discussed 1.000.000 times!!!

Seriously. This. What the hell were they thinking not putting at LEAST local co op in Lego City? Just about every Lego game ever has local co-op, it's one of the series' biggest draws! This could have been huge! Co-op GTA with Legos! But no, they had to fuck that up, and now the game didn't even sell a million.

I don't care about online play. I feel that most games should be enjoyed alone. Massive online games tend to be made for people who want to prove they are better than everyone else at something that doesn't really matter.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Nintendo did NOT develop that game. Let alone, that game has zero reason to have co-op. The reason the other lego games have co-op (and they don't have online co-op) is because Tt designs the game to be locally fun. Whether it's single player or local 2 player co-op. It just does not work for a game where you have one main character. Need I remind you, God of War Ascension...

Then Nintendo needs to do a better job convincing the millions of people buying consoles and software that are not theirs that they are not having as much fun playing online -   But I think most people playing online know what is more fun for them and thier families

Honestly though it is more about the investment Nintendo needs to make

I agree -  what a missed opportunitty-  only thing I can think of is they were scrambling to get delayed games out and did not take the time or maybe money. -  I wish they could do a proper sequal -it was otherwise a great Lego game
