Guys

Hey guys

I'll tell you a secret..
I like the XOne more than the PS4 as of right now..

The OP doesnt even mention the C L O U D and dont say how XOne got that sweet extra power from all the secret sauces and how the new Direct X will make it better than a Nasa supercomputer.

Actually, Xbox was launched in beta version. People keep saying how good the Xbox updates are, then when I go to see what's new, there are things like:

- NOW you can see the last time your friends were online
- NOW you can see how much battery is left on Xbox controller
- NOW you can use smartglass!
- NOW you can purchase through mobile devices
- NOW you can see how much GB your HDD have

Then I just stop... Look at screen... All of these things were already on PS4 how long ago? Isn't this supposed to be the standard? Ok, you can use smartglass and we have PlayStation App since launch, and even things that are relevant like 3D Bluray were launched first on PS4. You can't use them on Xbox yet.

Maybe there's some other feature that I don't know that is not available for PS4, but I don't think he's getting better at all. Actually, I think he's late.

the only one of those we dont have on the ps4 is last time friends were online, thats on the ps3 but not ps4

Yes it is. I'm always stalking my coworker to see when the last time he was online and what he did.

you sir have a special ps4, since im looking at mine right now and none of my friends on my friends list show when they were last online. and im running the newest firmware 1.75  if your talking about the recent activites thats not the same as what the ps3 has or knowing the last time they were online, that tells you the last time they started to play a game, for example one of my friends played TLoU at 11:28 last night  but i know for a fact he was on the game till 4am or so, but REcent Activites shows 11:28.   so again it doesnt show last online time.   The ps3 you just go to friends list highlight thier name and it will show when they turned off or logged off PSN.

Don't ever add me on PSN. I'm afraid of you. D:

oh cmon i only know he was on that late cause we were in a MP match together on TLoU  and thats why i used that particular friend as a example.  i only would love to know when certain friends(real life friends and family) logged off if i just missed them i give them a call see if they are going to be on again soon or done for the night.

Back in November 2013, Sony and Microsoft launched their respective next-gen gaming consoles, the PS4 and the Xbox One. Even though Sony's console has always had a strong lead over Microsoft's console in terms of sales numbers, the Xbox One is actually better than the PS4 in one aspect: Updates.

While Microsoft has been going out of its way to collect customer feedback and to act on it, Sony hasn't really done the same. A good example of this is the updates that both consoles received in July.

The Xbox One's July update brought some dynamic features including added Snap Mode for achievements, new languages for voice control, the ability to "like" Game DVR clips, feed items on SmartGlass and more.

On the other hand, the PS4 firmware update 1.74, which also rolled out during July, brought no new feature and simply "improves stability of some software", according to Sony.

In fact, Microsoft has paid careful attention to what its gamers want and has given them just that on many occasions. The company has rolled out eight solid updates till date, with each containing new features, including the ability to use external hard drives to manage game collection.

This was something gamers had been requesting for a long time and happens to be very useful considering console storage space is almost always way too low to store games.

Sony on the other hand has hardly added any features to the PS4 since its launch and has kept the vast majority of its updates minor.

"This is really starting to get annoying," said Reddit user DarkSlayer 224. "Xbox One has gotten like 8 major updates since launch and we've gotten 1... Please Sony, hurry up with MP3 support, DLNA and name changing!"

However, despite this, Sony's console still has strong sales numbers and is the top choice for most gamers who are looking to buy a next-gen console. But if Microsoft keeps this up, they're going to turn the Xbox One into something far more powerful when compared to the PS4.

When the consoles released Sony had quite a few features the X1 didn't so obviously they needed to catch up. Big update is coming for Sony just like the Blu-Ray 3d update released 2-3 days ago. Problem for MS is how to proceed forward with the X1 now that the Kinect has been cut? They'll have to support 2 ways to use the console. With and without Kinect? More work and headaches! They might even start neglecting Kinect control!

Well, to me the Xbox One came with many more features than the PS4 at first anyway. Sony is playing catch up in term of functionalities (not power wise obviously). As an Xbox One user I will not say that it is annoying me but I can understand why it is frustrating some PS4 users. But at the time I'm confident Sony will do the right thing.

EDIT: Saw the post above me after posting. It shows very well that everything is a matter of oppinion :)

The X1 has way more features than the PS4 and always will. The PS4 isn't catching up to anything beause the things the X1 are trying to do and the things the PS4 are trying to do are different.

The main problem with the X1 is not it's features it's the fact that the most important feature (gaming) is weak compared to it's competitor. Not only that but xbox has also failed to deliver games. The X1 started strong like it always does but now it has less games and less exclsuives than the PS4 and a lot of the games perform worse on the X1.

And none of that matters since the X1 is, and will continue to get soundly beat, sales wise. The PS4 will catch up in due time and honestly, the X1 isn't even that far ahead in terms of features. I can use Netflix, CR, Prime. That's all I really need outside of gaming.
