It's a side-story, but it was drawn by character designer for the anime, so I believe it's intended to be canon. It takes place after season 1, but before the events of the OVA.

The only reason I say that is because there's actually another DTB manga written by a completely different author...so it's easy to confuse them. The manga I linked is the one that ties into the canon.

Well... this episode of rokka no yuusha had the most rage inducing cliffhanger ever

Screw you, Ad-o-let-o.  Screw you to hell.

Somewhere between the two, I guess, though it really doesn't matter.  It's basically like new content that shares roughly the same time period.  After the first few episodes, when it has Hotaru transfering in "again", it just becomes more stories about the Asahigaoka street gang and I stopped thinking about it being "alternate".  Also, it's really, really good and has some of the best and most genuine feel good moments in recent anime.  Candy Store is my waifu.

It's okay, I watched it minutes after my site of preference uploaded it in HD. As rage inducing as the cliffhanger is, they've guaranteed that I'm coming back for the season conclusion, so good on them.

Unrelated to the above, but I just started watching Food Wars AND HOW CAN ANIME ABOUT MAKING FOOD BE SO INTENSE AND GOOD?

I'm not sure how I'm gonna react to the next episode. If Chamot, Maura, or Goldov are the 7th I'll be disappointed, since they're such underdeveloped characters. If Hans or Flamie turn out to be the 7th, I'll be mad, cause I like those characters. If it's a character we don't know then...well..come on. Don't do that. That just leaves Adoleto or Lola Bunny. Kinda rooting for the 3rd option...but I don't know how likely that is.

Buuuuut I suppose I'll just hope the finale handles it well to alleviate my issues above...whoever the 7th turns out to be.

Superboom, Let's talk Rokka. It has to be one of the people who was at the altar, by default Fremy is out since they didn't let her near it and adlet cleared that up entirely in the previous episode. Only the fake knows the true way to activate the barrier which means, that the fake would have had to do something to the altar. We only say 3 people mess with it, one just proved his innocence, and one would have doomed himself if it was him by saying he wants to hear what adlet had to say... in other words... Only one truth prevails

Rokka: Psycho-bunny has been my assumption for a while. She has those weird tendencies with no explanation, she was acting the strangest when they all arrived at the altar, and she keeps geting top billing in the OP/ED despite being having so little character depth (at least compared to the actual main characters). Making her into a villain might actually save her character in my eyes, as strange as that sounds.

Unless you were talking about a different altar scene...in which case next episode is going to catch me off guard. @_@
