Easily. Holiday sales alone will be 3m+.

Keep on dreaming ahha

Alright. Let's bet. I win if the Wii U, according to Vgchartz, sells 3 million or more in the months of November and December.

I'm curious to know about your prediction for PS4 and Xbox one which has even better lineup for Holidays with few exclusives and many third party games which are not there in Wii U.

I don't need to have predictions for the other two consoles because that doesn't change my prediction for the Wii U sales. And what you said is an opinion. It's not fact that the PS4 and Xbox One have a better lineup for the holidays and again, people don't buy a Wii U for third party. I hate when people say that shit. Anyway, you are underestimating the power of Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. Those two games coupled with Amiibos, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad, and Bayonetta make me think that the Wii U will sell very well this holiday season.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Will be 1.5 million off, I mean the majority that wants smash bros has probably already bought a wii u when Mario kart was released, I cant see it selling much

So sales will go down. From last year. By 600,000 units.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

What will they say when the Wii U sells 6 plus million? I sure hope this thread will be revived... Not saying it will, but I also think it could with it's line up this Holiday.

We'll have to wait till Holiday season, but I think they'll do it.

First of all, whoever says PS4 sales will effects Wii U is just making a plain stupid comment. Everyone knows that people are not getting a PS4 over a Wii U and and the same the other way around. Once we are over that, 800k Wii Us from one gaming is a huge increase. Plus there will be Hyrule Warriors which will have a huge effect on Japanese sales, and a good increase here in the west. Bayonneta 2 will also add a minor increase. Finally there is smash + amiibo (which alone will do nothing, but with smash will have more of an effect) which by itself will have an increase but plus the holiday season will do a hugely massive sales increase. Last year with mediocre sales earlier in the year, and only one system seller 3D World, the Wii U had one million holiday sales. With Smash and Captain Toad, games like MK8 and Hyrule Warriors, and a new found positive reception and increased hype, the holidays could defiantly sell 1.5-2M units. 800K for MK8 and maybe 800K for Hyrule warriors + Bayonetta, 1.5-2M units during the holiday, and more sales during the other months, Nintendo could defiantly make 3.6M

Oh and I forgot about the 2015 releases. With the amount they have for the first 6 months (1. Maio Maker, 2. Mario Party 10, 3. Kirby, 4. Yoshi, 5. Xenoblade, 6. M vs. DK) We will at least see 2 before the fisical year  isup. so if we add, oh 500k we could definatly get 3.6, or even up to 4.1 Million units!

I am changing this based of of the Q1 results. 500k (Q1) + 650k (HW and B2 will have great launches in japan, and okay launches in America, but the increase in sales from MK8 will have an affect as well. Add 2M holiday and 600k 2015 and we get them just barely making ther goal

Too scared to take the bet then, huh?

3 million is a bit of a stretch if you're talking just holidays.

NPD sales for July will likely come back down to earth to the 100k/month range.

Sales have not taken off in Japan either, despite MK8 so that leaves the Wii U with only really 2 markets to make hay in and they're particularly strong in either one.

That plus I think PS4 will start to flex its muscles this fall with Destiny, NHL, Lord of the Rings, Batman Arkham, and several other IP finally starting to hit the system.

At the end of the day, I think the vast majority of the gaming public simply wants a console that lets them play the widest variety of games, the NES, SNES, Playstation, PS2, and now PS4 all adhere to that, the Wii/360/PS3 gen is the only anamoly to this, and even there, 360 + PS3 basically just split that audience (and that was a higher audience than Wii owners).

yes, it will. MK8 will do great this winter

nice

I attended a couple of those Smash events at Best Buy last month.   I talked to several people that were looking forward to purchasing their Wii U and Smash together.   You can tell a lot of them didn't have a Wii U yet either because many brought along a GC controller...any current Wii U owner would know the console does not have GC controller ports (hence the coinciding release of the GC controller adapter with Smash Wii U).

"Nintendo would not be that stupid to let this slip..."

The same thing was said last year about MK8 missing the 2013 holiday season. And DKC got delayed too.

Mario Kart 8 never had a holiday 2013 release date.

I agree, one of my friends says he is waiting to get a Wii U for Hyrule Warriors, and more people wasnt smash than HW, so if I (major point I) could find someone who was witing to buy the console for Hyrule Warriros, Smash will sell a lot of systems

yes by a large margin easiely even before the non fiscal year ends.
