Finally! Really looking forward to Windows 9 now!

And good for Xbone users, you have access to mobile apps now!

So now it will be even MORE tailored to touch screens? I didn't think I could be counted any more out than I was with 8, but consider me counted out even further. I can't be more counted out.

I need to start buying up all the copies of Windows 7 I can find so I can sell them later. Either that or invest in other companies...

No, each type of device will have its own UI it seems or its own layer suited to that platform, but underneath the hood as he says it'll all be the same.

I guess I'm one of the strange people that actually liked the Start Screen, and am unhappy to see the Start Menu rear its old & clunky head again >_>

Naw, you are not the only one.  Anytime I have to use my mouse to click the clunky start button its because I am doing something very rare.  Either I have my favorites pinned to the taskbar or I just hit the windows key and start typing to get what I want.  Having to navigate using the mouse really is clunky in todays environment.

jack of all trades master of non, sticking with win7.

I'm going to remain skeptical until I see it in action.  The fact that they even made Windows 8 the way it is at all proves how far away from my own wants they are.  That plus pretty much the entirety of the Xbone and everything that makes it what it is.  This just isn't a company for me anymore.

UI wise, yes... internal archtecture no.

Win8, Phone and RT are very different but share some (not enougth) call structures.
