People are really jumping the gun with Wii U locking in second from what I've seen. Nintendo launched one of it's biggest IPs exclusively for the Wii U. While the Xbox One really has no system selling exclusives that will push consoles until Halo. Add on to the fact that the Xbox One is guaranteed 3rd party support and to me that equates to a much higher % chance that one will have the second place locked down. However, nothing is set in stone... except the PS4 being number one overall, unless something monumentally charastophic happens.

Except all the multiplats will likely sell better on PS4 anyway, so that third party support isn't all too great, and Wii U exclusives can potentially outsell XBO exclusives.

It's a moot point anyway, as both are pathetically behind the PS4 and right now it's a bit sad.  Especially if you consider that the PS4 isn't relying on gimmicks or that sort of thing.  They're all essentially the same, but PS4 is better.  Gen seems locked at Ps4>>>>XBO>>Wii U.  Not sure how they will sell overall at the end of the gen though, as these consoles seem front loaded sales wise, and I can't see them expanding their audience much outside of the gamer audience, which is needed for 100 million sales +.

Unless a miracle happens for XBO, Wii U, and something really bad happens to PS4, this gen is pretty much locked.  But who knows, Nintendo can always stumble across an IP that takes off and sells platforms, or that Amiibo thing will work out.  While Nintendo character based IPs and long standing franchises sell alot, people tend to forget(or ignore, because "Nintendo doesn't develop new IPs") it's their new IPs that sometimes sell in freakish amounts, and it happens in every gen, on every console/handheld.  So that's always something to watch out for.

Not sure what MS has up it's sleeve right now, as it just seems to be a lower caste PS4.  I asked this before in another thread, but apart from Halo, what other franchises do they have that can sell?  What other features or things would that have that could potentially one-up the PS4 or at least get it going in a decent head to head with it?  I can't see Quantum Break doing THAT well.  And being just pretty wont cut it.

price cut.  MS said it would be only until early January.  If the price for X1 would still be $349 after the holidays, they are in good shape to battle it out weekly.  if PS4 drops the price next year.  it would still push forward more.  for Wii U, yes they need to have a price cut soon if they need to compete with HW sales, i think it is not Nintendo's aim as 1st party exclusives and great games on Wii U would help them generate profit on SW sales.

I'm not sure a price cut would help MSimmensely.  They've been doing deals for a while now, and it's been incrementally increasing sales but not by much it would seem(judging by NPD).  And Sony and Nintendo can price cut as well, but I doubt Sony would do it right now, and I'm guesing Nintendo will hold on to as much profit as long as they possibly can before they do it.

I can see Nintendo dropping prices by early Feb or March next year though, or Sony by Spring or Fall next year maybe.

The Xbox 1 is selling a ton now and your still questioning if they have anything besides Halo to make it sell-  they have made an amazing turn around since the initial xbox1 unveiling
