Here you have your answer. They were not fans of the Xbox, you have painted as fans of the Xbox. these were only people who have seen better value in the 360 even with the RROD.

1)So you are saying that they werent fanboys buy just prefer playing on Xbox?

2)Oh and at your December 20 2014 prediction: I think the Wii U will sell more than the XB1 because of Europe. As of late the Wii U has been selling way better than the XB1 in EU due to MK8. I think Smash will alsi help boost it. The only guarantee is that XB1 will sell better in NA. I kniw this is off topic but it had to be said hahaha.

They seemed blindly loyal, and my words seemed to have little effect. So why the change?

I only have theories. The DRM/always online disaster of E3 2013? Forced Kinect inclusion? Dropping Kinect after vowing that Kinect would stay with every Xbox One? Misleading advertizing? A combination of things? I am not sure. It just seems like many people woke up and saw what I saw for a change.

Let me know in the comments why you think the Xbox brand is failing right now even after all the improved changes MS has made. I don't have much time for responses, but I will read your comments. If I have the time, I will respond. Thanks.


The majority of 360 "fans" were just mainstream gamers who buy whichever console is "popular." That console right now is PS4, so most migrated there. 

Of course not.

Microsoft did some things right with the original Xbox mostly Halo and online.

Then they improved with the 360 with it's comfortable controller, better online play, Gears of War, Forza and more Halo. Xbox Live was greedy imo but i guess that and RROD never seemed to bother 360 fanboys since they would just buy another Xbox and pay to play online.

Microsoft screwed up after it's DRM and always Kinect policies. Imagine if Sony came up with those policies you still think PS4 would be selling twice as much as Xbone?

If Sony find a way to make 3rd party love suporting their handheld the next one would sell very well.

I think having just one fail is not enough reason to abandon an industry imagine if Nintendo stop making console after the Gamecube



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

As well as the obvious reasons why the XBone is struggling I think the 360 had a very poor last couple of years compared to the PS3 and this turned a few XBox fans over to Sony. As soon as the new console went into the latter stages of development little attention was paid to the then current one.

PS4 is getting all the attention for third parties, and it's exclusives are better.

Wii U is a far better system to buy alongside PS4. Few people would buy a PS4 and an X1

 

As a 360 owner, I'm completely uninterested in the X1. I do want  a PS4, though. I imagine a lot of people can relate to this.

Ultimately, games sell hardware. I honestly feel Mario Kart 8 is bigger than a pricecut. If I were a Wii U fan (well actually I am) I wouldn't (won't) talk big until Microsoft releases some of its bigger titles. Actually, I won't talk big at all until Nintendo is doing far better.

They bought PS4's, Xbox One's or are still playing 360 until more games come out for the xbox one.

Conversely, what happened to Nintendo fans for the first year of the consoles life?, same thing.
