It may or may not be, however, with the Xbox brand dominance in America for the past few years and Nintendo's downfall with the Wii U, it truly surprises me that the X1 only outsold the Wii U by 30%.
Price is not a factor if the consumer deems your product of value which seems to include exclusives as well as neither X1 or Wii U is currently the market leader at this time.
As for public image,the Wii U has taken a beating over the past year and a half in almost every article that has been posted about it (especially articles pertaining to lack of or dropped 3rd party support)
X1 and Wii U both have a lot of negatives, however i am still generally surprised that it managed to hold up so well to a kinectless X1 (even with MK8 launching at the end of May)
