Forums - Sales Discussion - Difference between PS4 and XBO sales Destiny launch week?

I'd add a poll but i'm not even sure what the ranges would be, I'm just wondering how much more of a boost you think the PS4 will get than the Xbox one?

Buying order: Switch, better pc

I'll say a 40%-55% boost to the PS4 sales from whatever it was the week before.

With the bundle, beta & marketing I think it will be aprrox  1 million difference, if you include NA, EU and Japan.
Also consider it's exclusive in Japan so that's about 50k copies there (sounds about reasonable)
Though I don't think the difference will be greater than the difference of watch dogs XBO->PS4, since first person shooters have historically been xbox's domain, still going to sell more FW in USA though.

edit: oh my bad you're talkign about the console sales, in that case, I think it will 4x ps4 from prev week, and 1.5x x1

Consoles (PS4)3:(X)1
Game sales 2:1

Sales

PS4:1.6 mil

X1:7-800,000

Last gen: 1-2 mil

Remember this game is cross gen.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

PS4: 250K
XOne: 100K
...
PS4 will sell 150% more.

Destiny:

PS4: 2 milion

XOne: 1,2 milion

I think itll be raised to see once xbox users get to try the game and it gets the preorder boost

I think it will be a bigger boost than that.  This is one of the biggest games of the year.  It will be much bigger than watch dogs and that game gave the ps4 a 50% boost.  Plus it has the white ps4 bundle.

My guess is it will be around a 100-150% boost for the ps4 and 20-40% boost for the x1.

As far as software

ps4 - 2.5-3 million

x1-1-1.5 million

I think that it's going to help both consoles decently. I'm guessing it's going to help the ps4's sales more though.

hardware sales?
relativ or absolut?

the % bump from previous week will be 1.7 - 1.9 times bigger for ps4 than xbox one

eg 75% xbox one bump
130% ps4 bump

You may be ont something there....

I don't think it will give that much of a boost to the XB1 though. For starters its in a strange month, september and with the game bundled with a  white PS4 and the PS4 heavy marketing push it will have, my guess is that anyone looking to buy a console just for that game will be going with teh PS4. Sales for the game on XB1 are going to be almost exclusive to people that already own a XB1. Chances are, sales for the XB1 may actually drop for that week instead of climb.
