I dunno, it might help a lot when getting from point A to point B on the map. Its the extra game types that might ruin the fun of having the bat mobile. This is the first next gen batman game and the last of the franchise so I am so thankful that they are adding something to the mix that we've been missing from Batman which is a hallmark of what it means to be batman. No dumbing the game down for the last gen consoles surely is helping Batman become as large scale as it could possibly be.

Bigger scale was a negative in City already. I am not sure making it bigger is really a good thing. If they made the game more focused and compact like Asylum they wouldn't need the Batmobile and would probably be a better game for it. I don't need a Ubisoft style open world with a billion copy and paste activities and collectables in a Batman game. And having a bunch of huge tracks with challenges designed around the Batmobile doesn't make me feel like Batman. It makes me feel like I am playing a game that needed some contrived reasons for you to use a car. It doesn't fit the characters or the world at all IMO.
Maybe I will like it when I actually play it (I sure hope so) but from the stuff I have read and seen so far I am really not digging it.
