Forums - Gaming Discussion - Weekly global 21 June: XBOX ONE increase again

To all the People who were saying that Wii U would outsell X1 for the entire summer based on last weeks numbers....

Sorry, but I was right ;D

I am holding my prediction that X1 will pass up the Wii U in Global sales by the end of the year.

It won't be by a lot, but X1 will be ahead.

Why are people saying that these numbers are bad? You guys really have short memories.

of course they do.... most people are alwasy quick to talk about how bad things are... even if said "things" are actually normal.

Not sure why anyone is acting surprised by lower sales during the summer. Happens every year.

The numbers are confusing the hell out of me. They are just all over the place the past few weeks.

We all know how slow this time is for software. Expect those hardware numbers to be like that for a bit. Xbox outsold PS4 again in NA?! Wow...not surprised due to the price drop. NPD is going to be GOOOOOOD!!!

As much as I would like the X1 to win, it won't.  The numbers will be close this month, but I just don't see it happening.  The first week of June the PS4 absolutely steamrolled the X1 in sales.  Now they are almost selling on par with each other in NA, with the X1 selling just a little better, so I expect the 1st week to be the difference that will carry over the victory to PS4 this month.

I actually don't expect X1 to win NPD until October.

PS4 will win July thanks to TLOU Remastered, and September thanks to Destiny bundle.  August is a bit of a toss up, but I think it will lean in the PS4's favor.

October will be a good month for X1 to take the crown back as it has it's big exclusive SO comming out early in the month, and also Forza Horizon comes out very late september.  The PS4 will have DC, but I don't think that will move as many units as a shooter will in the US.  Also, Evolve releases with DLC first on Xbox, and if they market it as an Xbox game, then October should be an easy win for them.

November will also go to the X1 with Cod & Halo MCC releasing.  Cod will help as it is heavily associated with Xbox (and timed DLC), and Halo MCC will move a ton of units ass well.

December will be a big toss up, and interesting to see who comes away with the holiday crown this year.  Last year X1 won it, but that was because PS4 was supply constrained.  I think who wins will come down to who offers the best deals with bundles/price cuts for the holidays.

I'm so tired of te fear mongers on this site calling doom every week and how they "warn us" about the current state of gaming industry.

Is fucking summer is always the same every year.

They also spell doom because every summer the temperatures are high and the world end is nigh.

There we go, PS4 still on top for home consoles and Wii U back down to 3rd. I guess it's done "duking it out". Now back to reality.

I think it's because we were teased with record breaking numbers earlier.

So most people expected the trend to continue.

But both PS4/X1 HAVE broken records. For their first years, both have SHATTERED what their predecessors did.

There are twice as many combined at this point than PS360 comparatively.

Not sure what you're getting at.

Yes but they're slowing down.

Some people probably expected them to continue selling at an abnormally high rate.

After rechecking the previous gen sales, they're doing fine. Sales do dip at this time every year.

Is it me or is it just weird that X1 numbers are higher than they were the week of the price cut? Wii u is going down but I hope 50k is its baseline. PS4 is dominating.

PS4 is most likely going to be 1st on NPD June with X1 in 2nd and Wii U in 3rd in the home console race.
