It seems like you people don't realize shooters have been the most popular genre for a decade and a half, their period of dominance will be or already is longer that the dominance platformers had till the late 90s. But you surely don't seem to be getting tired of games that have for cover art a white man in this 30s or 40s with brown hair holding a firearm.

I'll fill you in on a detail you missed in the OP. I don't like CoD stuff either.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think you should probably just move on completely from Nintendo since nothing is going to change in this regard. Personally I would move on from Nintendo if they stopped making mario kart, zelda, mario games ect. These games are premium content and I prefer long standing franchises to new ip's.  Every once in a while a new ip will be amazing and it will be added to my list of franchises I love. Uncharted was able to do that and Gears of War, Halo, ect. I could really see Destiny joining the club. Calling Zelda and Mario games mediocre is just your opinion but not one that is consitant with neutral sources. Like I said I feel you should just move on because you're not going to get what you want and there are plenty of companies doing the thing that you prefer so you should support those companies.

I don't have anything to support this claim but I think its unfortunate that people support Mario and friends more than they do for new IPs. I don't like Nintendo for reusing Mario and friends, but it wont force me abandon them. I will support the new IPs, just not all the Marios.

Am I the only person on VGC who sees value in all 3 console makers?

Nope. I think they all have some great qualities but I do however think that Nintendo at this point is the weakest in terms of overall console experience. It is limited to decent to great first party titles. They get little to no real third party support these days because they are always looking to build the cheapest (in manufacturing cost not necessarily consumer pricing) consoles that underperform the rival boxes and offer nothing that is not available elsewhere. Motion controls? Available on Xbox and Playstation. Second screen tablet functionality or remote play capabilities? Available on XBox and Playstation.

Nintendo doesn't need it's own console to make great games. For the life of me I just don't understand why Nintendo fans just can't seem to let go of the fact that Nintendo is increasingly becoming irrelevant in the home console market and needs to shift to third party status so that they can start making their games for the masses at large again. Its not a postion of shame or denegration of Nintendo or it's memory etc. As a third party dev Nintendo would make a killing in the Activiison/EA vein. And please don't tell me look at what happened to Sega. Sega was no where near as diversified as Nintendo nor did they have the same cache as far as IPs go. I loved Sonic but compared to Mario? No contest.

As someone who hasn't owned a Nintendo console since N64 (the last time I was a three home console owner PS1, N64, Saturn) I miss some of those venerable Nintendo franchises but I am just not willing to forgo all the great third party etc. games available on other platforms to own a Nintendo console for a few great but rehashed franchises nor am I willing to crowd my entertainment center with that many console boxes any more. I'd say the same of ANY of the three current console makers if they were in the same position as Ninty at this point.

So for many of us it comes down to a choice and more and more Nintendo is losing out when those choices are made. To me third party in the home console market just makes more sense.

I feel Sony needs to make new IPs at a steadier rate than Nintendo because when they do make one, they push it hard. A lot of their new IPs receive trilogys or more within the span of a generation and when the sales start sliding down due to burnout they have to make a new one to push. However when Nintendo gets a new IP they unfortunately don't push it hard enough or even at all (see Disaster/another code/pandoras tower/xenoblade/Last story). This often leads to rather low sales and they then get overlooked in arguments such as these because they only received a single entry that didn't light the charts on fire.

It's more like Sony refresh it's franchises when a new generation comes. That's why they usually go with trilogies that goes throught the whole gen.
GoW and Uncharted did so well still in their respective gen ends that Sony wisely come with more games in the next gen, but that didn't refrained then to make new IP's, in that case, ND already have TLOU and SSM is almost done with The Order 1886.
Sony can and will try to take the more of their franchises but even when they do it they deliver new stuff as well, and high quality stuff as we already see with TLOU success in the middle of another success that was Uncharted series.
Nintendo keep trying to achive success with new IP's and keep failing, because they focus too much in their already successful franchises that come again every single gen, theirselves shoot at their new IP's and make them lost space and die, then they come back to the old IP's and that forms a cycle that they couldn't get off in 30 years, and don't show a signal they will.
Nintendo is the only to blame in their tragic decrease over the years, a company that have almost the monopoly in the console gaming market now is irrelevant to most of the publishers and keep making the same mistakes over and over.
Nintendo has one of the most die hard fanbase that came along the years, but that's already too little to keep them healthy in the market, they need to bring new stuff to bring new people to them, otherwise they will be joining Atari and Sega in the one a time glorious gaming company's that faded away and will product their games to other consoles/plataforms.

If Sony owned Spyro and Crash I garuntee you they wouldve been making those during the PS2 era. Instead they bought the companys who made them and got them to make new platformer ips in their stead. Then during the PS3 they decided to change their market and had to make these new IPS to appeal to a different market. Sony can also afford to make IPS that aren't likely to explode into the sales charts as third party sales are really where the bulk of their money comes in. Im also positive the order will get multiple sequels unless it absolutely bombs.

Nintendo on the other hand have to make Mario, Zelda, Pokemon as they don't get this buffer from third partys, something they desperately need to fix. Not only that you often see comments were people are waiting for these franchises to come before they buy the console. I mean what is Nintendo supposed to do? They need to push their new IPs more, its a travesty how little effort theyve put into promoting them, but this cannot come at the expense of the bulk of their cashflow which is currently keeping them afloat.

Well that's true, Nintendo have a ridiculous bad marketing to their games, and the new IP's get outshined by the already know ones.
Truth to be told, gamers want good games, and even with poor marketing they will rise to a degree at some point, just like Xenoblade and Last Story, both already got a good fanbase to deserve new entries, but are way too hidden of the majority general public, and that makes their sales be at max reasonable and give Nintendo data to fear making the franchises, so they play the safe spot and focus on their old and successful IP's... but that have to change, they need to take risks in order to take the results, and they just never really done it, with 30 years to do... that's their problem.
Nintendo is by far the most "coward" company out there, and that's why Sega could stand a competition with then after the NES success almost monopoly the gaming market, and Sony rising to top them in a ratio of 3:1 with their very first try in the market.
Again, Nintendo is the only to blame to be in that situation, I hope they can realise it and start taking the risks before they don't have more means to do that.
They don't need and of course won't scrap their franchises, but they need to understand that they are milking them since the 90's and are always losing consumers willing to have new things to play.
Nintendo decend from 60M to 40M to 30M to 20M (than the wii 100M boom) to what they are dealing now, a console with not even 2 years in the market and being totally pressured by developers to perform better or they will not get their games (some are already just not releasing to the WU).
Nintendo outdated IP's + no 3rd party support... well, you know what will happen.
I hope they understand that they need the 3rd party support and they need to develop a whole new lot of IP's quickly, otherwise they will join Sega.

2. I played Mario games since I was 8 years old.  Fast forward 20 years later,  they're still making Mario games. Princess Peach.. that bitch keep getting kidnapped.

Peach wasn't kidnapped in the last one:P

3. Yes, they continue to copy their own mediocre games after copies after copies, so many copies.  Pokemon red, blue, ruby, yellow, gold, silver, X, Y, Crystal, green, pearl, emerald, black and white, Black and White 2..(there is more) from 1996 to present. I was happy with just 150 Pokemon.

The latest iteration is more centered on battling online, the gameplay has become a lot more advanced since 1996.

6. Let me tell you what Nintendo cares about. They care about their own IPs. They make their system for their IPs. They don't really care about anything else because they know pokemon, zelda, and mario is all they need.

This is actually more or less true, though Idk if they don't care about 3rd parties, they just seem to be more interested in advancing their own IP's.

7. When I look at Mario games, kart, smash, pokemon etc. I see nothing new.

I can't help you if you're blind:P

8. If Nintendo is going to make a new RPG game, then I hope they leave Mario out of it. Anything with Mario or Zelda is a turn off.

They do have Golden Sun.

I don't hate Nintendo, I just don't like all the coping, and over rated games they keep printing. Those games show me nothing that compels me to buy it. Its like once I've played one, I've played them all, just like the CoD franchise, and I'm done with that series too.

Every company does this.  Halo 5 is coming out and that doesn't include all of the spinoffs.  We have like 3 gears of wars, 4 god of wars, we are on our fifth uncharted, 3 bioshocks, 3 infamous games, I mean the list goes on and on.  The sad thing is that most of those games I mentioned all came out last gen.  Companies like to rehash the same games that sell.  Naughty Dog was cool because they would create a new IP followed by 2 sequels and a kart racer.  But now, not only did they not make unkarting, but they are adding a 5th game....FIFTH!  Then their is ratchet and clank....anyways.  The point is that every company does this (not just Nintendo).  It's cool that nintendo has finally made a new IP/franchise with splatoon and I hope it does great because that might lead to Nintendo creating more new IP's.  But the one thing about Nintendo is that they don't abandon their IP's like sony did with Crash and Spyro.

What Nintendo needs to do is make more new fresh games like Xenoblade Chronicles X. Now this game.. This is a game I want.

It's basically a rehash of xenoblade chronicles....

Honestly, it sounds to me like you just don't like Nintendo games.  And even if they made new IP's, you probably wouldn't like them.

You say Nintendo games. I just don't like 3 Nintendo franchises. So you mean to tell me Nintendo is only about Mario and friends?

Here I am wanting them to make new fresh games like X.

Something tells me that even if they did make new IPs, YOU wouldn't like them.

Just wish Nintendo would have an IP that was more realistic. The cartoony stuff got old for me. Could still play the new stuff, just won't care about it.
