Nothing? So Sunset Overdrive, KI Season 2 and Forza Horizon 2 are nothing? |
Do you really think any of those will be console sellers? Seriously KI Season 2. The 1st season didn't even do big for them, not to mention that with Smash Bros coming thats all the fighting game community will be focused on. Forza Horizon 2? Come on man. The 1st did 1.7 million and Forza 5 just dropped to 1.3 million. Simulator racing games are dead. Sunset Overdrive with it's more unique style will have to be beyond amazing to make any impact.

Just wait and see then. Watch Dogs just showed that right now when multi-plats are hitting people are buying PS4's for them. To make that shift Microsoft needs great 1st party titles. I don't see how a Halo Collection is going to convince the masses to get an Xbox One instead of PS4, or even a Wii U. The hardcore fans will buy it, but many of them already own an Xbox One.

It may not convince the masses but its certainly a strong enough lineup to move some consoles.
Its entirely possible MS will contine to sell less globally than the PS4 but still sell a healthy amount and be a profitable product. Theres no harm in that.

I don't have an agenda, I am just using numbers to show how Microsoft is setting themselves up for failure. I said the same thing about Nintendo last year. Pikmin was always a small selling franchise. W101 was WAYYYYY too niche to do big numbers. Wind Waker HD was a remake and wouldn't move the needle much. SM3DW was a nice title that would bring some sales in but wasn't the mind-blowing type of mario like SMB, SMW, Mario 64, or Galaxy so it wasn't going to send their numbers into crazy territories.
Look I want Xbox to do well. PS4 from what I have seen is all hype and not much substance, but Xbox One is doing very little to convince me that it is the right console for me. I really couldn't care less about small graphic differences, I just want some great games and Microsoft is letting me down right now,.
superhippy420 said: To those saying that this will move a ton of consoles too, you really have to look at the history of remakes to see that there is zero chance it makes any huge impact. Wind Waker - Gamecube 4.6 million / Wii U 1 million Halo 1 - Xbox 6.4 million / Xbox 360 2.25 million God of War 1+2 - PS2 8.7 million / PS4 2.3 million. These remakes time and time again have proven to only sell anywhere from 25 to 40 percent of their original games sales. Even if the Halo Collection exceeds those numbers and does 45 percent of the originals, then we are looking at about 4.8 million in lifetime sales and that is the absolute ceiling. Now you have to take into account all of the other new games that will be released during the holiday season (Super Smash Bros mainly), and Microsoft is just setting themselves up for failure. |
Halo AE did 2.25 million and that was one game, this is 4 games with even more content than just that.halo 1 was single player with multiplayer that was essentially just dlc for halo reach. That hurt it's hype, review scores, and sales. If it would have actually had halo 1's multiplayer it would probably be at 3 million or more. Also halo 1 AE didn't get bundled this will be.This is not just 4 games it also has a halo tv show, and a beta to halo 5. I'd reckon the beta will get it an extra 500k-1m game sales. Remember the little game called halo odst. WAit it was actually called halo 3 odst, so it was basically an expansion to halo 3. So had the f@&$ did it sell 6 million copies? I'd bet that reach beta with it sure helped a lot.
idk maybe ur right but even if u are what do expect around 3.5 million? Cause if that's so it will still be a success. That's better than titanfall. I'm anticipating more than 5 million copies. How much more idk if say 7 million is probably the max. Even if it only does 3.5 tho there's still forza, sunset, project spark, and dance central this year alone.
Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)
halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)
x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

We will have to wait and see. The X-Factor in it all is the Wii U. We already see that a title like Mario Kart can bring mass interest and move a ton of consoles, and with Super Smash Bros coming out, it's going to be a very appealing system for alot of people. Honestly after Sony's press conference I think Microsoft missed a HUGE opportunity. People are starting to realize that PS4 is all hype and little substance and if Microsoft would have just shown a few more great and fresh titles then they would have clearly won the day. Instead they both had average at best conferences and everything at days end is just the status quo. Now Nintendo is about to drop atleast one megaton (Zelda) and maybe more tomarrow and all of the talk could shift back Nintendos way quickly.
4 games for $60 and a open invite to the beta of Halo5, this is a great deal for any system. No need to downplay this. I was happy for PS4 to get the Grim Fandango remake. They need to do a Psychonauts reboot too. (as a multiplat please)
This is no different than when the Original Crackdown came with Halo 3 beta invite, and were pleasently pleased to find out that Crackdown was a fantastic game. Crackdown 2 sucked balls, but 3 looks promising. Alot of my old Military buds are excited to go online, and play together to take down Kingpins.
