So, I did a little looking around online, and I found all the estimated total hardware shipments for all the major consoles from the 1st to 7th generation. I know there's a few issues, but I got everything pretty close.
- I used wikipedia for the 1st-6th gen and VGchartz for the 7th, so it shows DS a little above PS2 which i know is a bit off. (I know PS2 is supposed to be 155m, but changing it will mess up the rest of the numbers and I'm way too lazy to fix them all.)
- I couldn't find sales info for the Neo Geo or Atari Lynx. (They're both estimated at 2,000,000, but there's no official numbers.)
- I split the Game Boy into 2 parts. 70m for GB and 48.69m for GBC. (just an estimate because Nintendo lumps them together for some reason)
- I didn't include duplicate consoles like the Sega Nomad.
- I didn't include attachment consoles like the Sega CD.
I included some of the failed consoles, but not all so expect a margin of error of a couple percent.
