Cmon English teams, please do something in the Champions League next season. Leicester did well but I'd like to see 1 or 2 in the Semi's.

At least we don't have Arsenal in there to embarrass us again (had to have the dig in there)

Well to be fair, Arsenal are hardly the only team that has been embarrasing in Europe in recent years...

Tottenham was dire in Europe this season to be fair. I kind of want to say it's a lack of caring but I'd find that even worse.

It'd be interesting to see how Chelsea do this season now they're back in europe, I can see Chelsea being able to handle more competitions now under Conte and wont finish mid table. No way he'd let that happen.

Chelsea should do well

Teams qualified for the 2017/2018 Champions League Group Stage at the moment:

Pot 1:

  • Real Madrid
  • Bayern Munich
  • Juventus
  • Benfica
  • Chelsea
  • Shakhtar Donetsk
  • Monaco
  • Spartak Moscow

Out of interest, what is the criteria for being in Pot 1? ... basically Shakhtar Donetsk seems out of place, technically Spartak too.

Hmm, pie.

Pot 1 are the winners of their domestic league.

Ukraine get a pot one? Geez. Screw you Netherlands (apparently).

Yep. At least we can still get our champions directly into the group stage, won't be long before that privilege is gone as well.

It's already gone. The Champion of the upcoming season will enter in the 3rd qualifying round. Thankfully Champions and non-Champions are seperated in the qualifiers so it shouldn't be too hard to qualify for whatever team wins the league next year.

Feyenoord's picked the perfect year to win the league again.

Why? I don't understand the seeding for Europe. Never seems to make sense.
