This chant was a thing among France supporters since 2013-2014, y'know.
It's not an Icelandic thing, it's a common chant.

It originated from a club called motherwell in Scotland years ago.  Lol at casuals arguing over that like they have any idea.  I was at the opening match v France Romania and the French were doing it then long before Iceland fans got publicity for doing it.

Thanks for the info, I knew it wasn't a French chant either (we actually don't have any, lol), but I didn't know where it originated from :)

But yeah... Icelandic fans were awesome during this tournament, really, top tier fans along with the Irish, but let's not act like they invented anything...

No shame in that.  Not many countries do have their own created chants.  Like Ireland do but they weren't created for football.  They're just Irish songs for example.

Most countries chants originated from a club team somewhere in the world because it's the club scene where most of the effort for new chants is made.

Yeah, sure I didn't mean a completely original creation, but simply a chant that would be commonly used in our stadiums.
I mean, La Marseillaise is hype, "Allez les Bleus !" too, but in comparison, we are far behind the Irish, for example, with chants like The Fields of Athenry, Will Griggs on Fire, Sweet Caroline, etc...

I really feel like France has poor supporters. There are some faithful ones for sure, but for example, we're in semi finals of our Euro Cup, we crushed Iceland and are the best attack of the competition, but people are still bashing France here :)

I know the Icelanders didn't invent the chant (my parents told me that it originated from a scottish club, like Kerotan said. Actually, my mom of all people told me.), but during this tournament it has been Icelands "thing" (and dare I say, they pulled it off like no one else have). And the fact that they are Icelandic makes it that much better xD

Germany 2 - France 1
Wales 1 - Portugal 0

(mostly hope on the Wales-Portugal one)

Is that some of your Viking pride there?

Yes, yes it is. Icelanders were Norwegians a thousand years ago!

(But you have to admit, you agree)

Just checked my watch and it's still not Wednesday. WTF?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I use a calendar myself, my watch only tells the time.

Hmm, pie.

Bolded: Don't worry, it's like that with every successful football nation. Here, even when we were winning everything there was a lot of criticism for minor things.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Watching the Zaza dance was totally worth losing against the "crucchi" (Krauts).
