Can I use a european Xbox Live Voucher for an American Account?

Around the Network

Bump.

I've used European ones for an Aussie account. Could try it out... How much it cost?

I just wanted to buy Super T.I.M.E Force but I have an US Account and live in Austria, so I was wondering if I could redeem an Austrian voucher for my US Account

I believe the Microsoft points cards are region locked, while the Xbox Live subscriptions are region free. But don't quote me on this.

I used a live subscription for NTSC consoles on my PAL Xbox and it worked. I also bought points from the Microsoft store to take advantage of a special offer only available in the US and I didn't have any problem redeeming the codes for it.

why not just make an austrian account and use the voucher there?

Every account on your xbox can play games bought by every account on that xbox
