the industry is not going to die anytime soon. last gen was off to an even worst start and in the end it ended up being the most competitive of them all. The industy will shift or evolve but it wont die. If anything I think it will set the stage for better gaming in the future. MSFT has a solid online infrastructure with their azure servers and if sony can nail the PS now stuff, it will make basically any TV, pc, phone, tablet, handheld or any form of internet device a potential console. Consoles will be there for those who prefer ease and we might finally see cross play between every device out there.
