WiiU dooooooooooomed!

Don't be silly, there'll be a Wii U version.

It just wont be advertised, mentioned or even confirmed (nor denied) when queried about.

But being silly is what I do here on VGChartz!

Surprised how many people take umbrage with Wii U missing out on third-party ports. How many of you would buy the new Call of Duty on Wii U, anyway? Maybe 100,000? That number is probably over-tracked, not to mention Activision doesn't do digital versions of console games.

It's not confirmed that it is missing out.

True, but that's not necessarily my point.  My point was that if all the people who scream about more and more third-party titles skipping Wii U actually bought the third party games that do make it, there would be more.  Supply and demand.  It seems a shame that some developers invest millions into Wii U ports, and can't even break 100,000 in sales on some titles, while PS and Xbox versions reap 95% of sales for basically the exact same game.  Ghosts on Wii U sold significantly less than Black Ops II on Wii U, despite Ghosts selling to a much larger install base of consoles.

I believe that third party games will only sell on Wii U if there's something about the Wii U version that appeals to people more than buying another version.   There needs to be something that differentiates.  I don't know if Off-TV Play is compelling enough of a feature to be that differentiating factor.  I just think that Watch Dogs on Wii U is going to prove most people right and it won't sell well on Wii U, and it will give Ubisoft the perfect excuse to not do Wii U titles anymore beyond Rayman and Just Dance.

But why? why should 3rd parties spend more time and more money on a version that probably still wont come close to selling as much as the others? They wont, it would make no sense.

Well, yes.  Exactly.  That's why Nintendo home consoles since N64 are in the shape that they're in with third-party publisher support.  At least with N64 and Wii, the install bases in North America were such that it was financially sensible to at least do a cheap port to Nintendo consoles.  With Wii U have such a tiny install base, there is literally no financial reason that any publisher would want to invest in that business.  Not until Nintendo stimulates growth of the system, which only Nintendo can do with their franchises.

I'm not sure if I should be excited. There is no Wii U version announced. Ghost was a mess and looked like the X360 version. I think it's time for me to give COD a rest.

There was also no Wii U version of Black Ops II or Ghost announced ahead of time either. Activision has been really weird about that, yet they are still released after all. And there is evidence to suggest a Wii U version will again come out.
