This has interested me for a long time now. It does seem a lot of people only get a fraction of the threads which not only leads to dupe threads but also dead 1 post threads. I've heard of a lot of people that they're simply using the hot topics on the main page. But there are 2 more ways.
You could use the the forum index and just visit the forums you like and get most out of it probably. And then there is the "Latest Topics". That's what I use and I think what everyone should do. It's the easiest and best way to get most out of the forum. It displays every new thread that is made in chronological order. Visiting that site will let you see all new topics of the day and you can easily pick theones you are interested in. It also prevents duplicate threads because if you know every thread that was already posted and take a quick look into it before posting a new thread you will immediately see if the same topic was just posted by someone else.I don't think it's too much to go through. Even if you just visit the forum 2-3 times a day there are just about 50 new threads every day or so.
I also use the "My Topics" a lot because if you post in a lot of different threads the VGC Buddy becomes almost useless in detecting threads with quoted posts. It's also the quickest way to find my hottest topics that are not in the Buddy anymore.
So how do you use VGC Forum?
