Forums - Gaming Discussion - When if ever do you find it okay to start pirating and emulating a game?

I used to a little bit when I was younger and when I got bored when I lived in Korea. All my poor consoles were all alone in Canada waiting for me.. Now I collect like mad. I don't have enough time to play all the games I get.

Frankly, never. I used to pirate pc games, not anymore since Steam sales. As you get older you also get more capital, I now buy every boxed game, Im building a games collection. Currently completing my Gamecube and Xbox 1 collection, will then move over to PS2, recently got a Gameboy Player, neat. I will buy 100s of old gen games in the coming years.

If I dislike the policies of said publisher, I'll pirate the game/app. Theres no way I'm gonna give money to one company that disregard me as a consumer.

If you have a Gameboy player and a spare gamecube you don't care too much about you definately have to try playing Wario Ware Twisted with it, I'm convinced that game is the reason they added a handle on the GC :D

I can't believe you'd even suggest such a thing. I thought this was a civilized forum.

lol someone has a youtube video of it, the game has a motion sensor in it that you have to play all the games with.

that person is holding it at the sides... I just straight up grabbed the handle and twisted it as it should be in the GBA, (have 3gcs so yeah... didn't care, but no harm came to the system after doing it)

Haha that is awesome, will never try it with my gamecube tho, afraid I might damage some parts lol. Also Boktai needs solar energy!

Never could get my hands on a copy of that, I don't even think they bothered to ship it to Ireland given that we never get sunlight here... maybe if there was a rain powered game with a waterproof gba...

Seeing a few of my friends enter the video gaming industry (one as an animator, and another as a programmer) and occasionally let go from a company when a game doesn't attain a certain amount of sales has dramatically widened my perspective as a consumer. It's easy to forget that these companies, no matter how large, are ultimately formed by people, and when consumers pirate or attempt to damage these companies in some way, it's usually hard-working people that are affected by it.
